  • I remember when I was watching this how freaked out I was, then the lights go off . . .

  • i think that thing on the tub was the miss limpmann

  • What a great performance Ted Levine gave. He was over shadowed by Hopkins, but I think he did better than Foster. He at least deserved a nomination.

  • Are you retarded or just stupid?

Jodie Foster was perfection as Clarice. Ted Levine did a poor impression of a cliched killer.

  • La mejor escena del cine de suspenso...

  • hahaha wow 6:40 and on fuckin funny

  • Man, Buffalo Bill is so perfect. He deserved an Oscar too.

  • Nice shoe.

  • Her fear is so real that's what makes the scene scary for me. She deserved that Oscar!

  • jodie foster is great in this scene well executed, the music score is fantastic too. great atmosphere

  • the scene is fantastic.

the last two minutes are the best 120 seconds of the entire movie:

the breathing, the night googles, the impotence clarice faces, the hand of gumb trying to reach out clarice while the music slowly plays, and the climax shootout

I find it impossible to have a better ending

  • my god hes so scary :p

but seriously if i was her i would have left the house as soon as he bailed and waited for backup :L

  • People who point out unrealistic things in movies are real assholes, they need to just sit back and enjoy the fucking movie. This is considered to be one of the greatest thrillers of all time. Oh and if i was stuck in a well for 3 days and some FBI agent just said she was gonna leave, i would be so pissed.

  • uumm... nerd? yeah? thought so.

  • I dont understand why they put random swastikas all over the place...its completely out of context.

  • what's the song playing when clarice sees the half dressed mannequin? sounds something like the cramps but i don't know, anybody??

  • Starling should have said FIrst I have to go kill the psycho killer first then I come back cuz, dam if I was in her postion I would leave that girl for being a disrespecting close minded bitch.

  • Youknow, this is a a mistake, she knows where the man is she should leave and call backup/

  • No way dude. Her primary purpose was to find and rescue Catherine Martin if possible. If she had called for backup and waited, it is more likely than not that Buffalo Bill would have killed Martin and himself (or killed her and then had a shootout with the cops). Martin was in immediate peril, and Starling made the best decision she could under the circumstances.

  • Yes. She had to silence those "Screaming lambs".

  • @username1p He had run away.the police were coming but if she didn't go after him,he would have killed the girl

  • ffs....anthony hopkins and jodie foster play FACKING WELL IN THE MOVIE...just watch the damn movie and dont try to correct the plot because they could have caught them in another way...JUST ENJOY IT!!!!!

  • The FBI knew Gumb collected/imported moths.Thye could have checked freight/postal deliveries/invoices and traced Gumb that way!

  • bullets dont make a silver muzzle flash

  • nice, but i thought government agency like the FBI would have their agents carrying semi-automatics by the 90's.

  • At 6:26, Buffalo Bill's gun project a shadow in Clarice. How would it be possible, if the places were in complete darkness?

  • Haha nice... your pretty observant, but remember, its just a movie.

  • Night-vision goggles amplify existing light, that's why they look so grainy. There will have been some light breaking through from somewhere and that's where the shadow will have been coming from.

That's just my theory, anyway. I just refuse to admit there's anything wrong with this film at all, haha.

  • he shouldn't of played around with her he should of just shot her

  • Totally...movies which try to create suspension by letting the characters act stupid are meh.

  • haha i'm getting night vision goggles next week. This is giving me some good ideas

  • Holy fuck

  • She shouldn't have gone after him alone, should've called for back up first! Why on earth didn't ahe have a radio on her?!

  • If the creators of the movie were REALLY thinking, Clarice would have solved this mystery in the first 5 minutes and we could have all gone home early.

  • It was a book before it was a film. Next time you try to sound like a smartarse, make sure you've backed your pithy comments up with knowledge.

    Dingus.

  • We (I) assume this because it looks like (what used to be) an old lady... appears to be gray/white frizzy hair from the corpse... no other likely body it could be since Bill left his corpses in the river...

  • Look at that face when she sees the women suit. 1:56

And the body is Mrs. Lippman who owned the house before Bill presumably killed her and lived there.

  • in the bathtub? how do you know this?

  • Yes that is Mrs Lippman In the novel it goes into brief detail about Gumb killing her and leaving her to decompose in the bath tub that is the one flaw with the otherwise outstanding Silence of the Lambs film - it is a little confusing why the FBI break into an empty house and Starling walks in on Gumb in Ohio Gumb has killed Mrs Lippman and moved into her house presumably to avoid detection.

  • It's Fredrica's (the fat girl Gumb murdered) friend that points Starling to th Gumb's house, cos she asks Fredrica for Mrs Lippman's address, not knowing Gumb has taken over occupation!

  • Lol yeah thats what I said...

All I was saying is, its a little confusing for people or haven't read the novel

  • I love Jodie's accent!

  • What the hell is in that bathtub?

  • Dead, presumably rotten, body.

  • Who was your boyfriend? The guy in this clip?

  • Gumb had a phone, Starling wouldn't even have had to leave the house to call for back up. Oh, and Catherine wasn't very grateful when Starling came to rescue her, was she??
