the last two minutes are the best 120 seconds of the entire movie:
the breathing, the night googles, the impotence clarice faces, the hand of gumb trying to reach out clarice while the music slowly plays, and the climax shootout
People who point out unrealistic things in movies are real assholes, they need to just sit back and enjoy the fucking movie. This is considered to be one of the greatest thrillers of all time. Oh and if i was stuck in a well for 3 days and some FBI agent just said she was gonna leave, i would be so pissed.
Starling should have said FIrst I have to go kill the psycho killer first then I come back cuz, dam if I was in her postion I would leave that girl for being a disrespecting close minded bitch.
No way dude. Her primary purpose was to find and rescue Catherine Martin if possible. If she had called for backup and waited, it is more likely than not that Buffalo Bill would have killed Martin and himself (or killed her and then had a shootout with the cops). Martin was in immediate peril, and Starling made the best decision she could under the circumstances.
ffs....anthony hopkins and jodie foster play FACKING WELL IN THE MOVIE...just watch the damn movie and dont try to correct the plot because they could have caught them in another way...JUST ENJOY IT!!!!!
Night-vision goggles amplify existing light, that's why they look so grainy. There will have been some light breaking through from somewhere and that's where the shadow will have been coming from.
That's just my theory, anyway. I just refuse to admit there's anything wrong with this film at all, haha.
If the creators of the movie were REALLY thinking, Clarice would have solved this mystery in the first 5 minutes and we could have all gone home early.
We (I) assume this because it looks like (what used to be) an old lady... appears to be gray/white frizzy hair from the corpse... no other likely body it could be since Bill left his corpses in the river...
Yes that is Mrs Lippman In the novel it goes into brief detail about Gumb killing her and leaving her to decompose in the bath tub that is the one flaw with the otherwise outstanding Silence of the Lambs film - it is a little confusing why the FBI break into an empty house and Starling walks in on Gumb in Ohio Gumb has killed Mrs Lippman and moved into her house presumably to avoid detection.
It's Fredrica's (the fat girl Gumb murdered) friend that points Starling to th Gumb's house, cos she asks Fredrica for Mrs Lippman's address, not knowing Gumb has taken over occupation!
Gumb had a phone, Starling wouldn't even have had to leave the house to call for back up. Oh, and Catherine wasn't very grateful when Starling came to rescue her, was she??
I remember when I was watching this how freaked out I was, then the lights go off . . .

What a great performance Ted Levine gave. He was over shadowed by Hopkins, but I think he did better than Foster. He at least deserved a nomination.

Are you retarded or just stupid?
Jodie Foster was perfection as Clarice. Ted Levine did a poor impression of a cliched killer.

nice, but i thought government agency like the FBI would have their agents carrying semi-automatics by the 90's.

At 6:26, Buffalo Bill's gun project a shadow in Clarice. How would it be possible, if the places were in complete darkness?

It was a book before it was a film. Next time you try to sound like a smartarse, make sure you've backed your pithy comments up with knowledge.

Look at that face when she sees the women suit. 1:56
And the body is Mrs. Lippman who owned the house before Bill presumably killed her and lived there.
