  • Hi, I just came across this video. Thank you so much for the tips. I will definitely try this and I loved the sound of the cute babbling little one in the back ground...sweet.

  • i have really wanting to make some home made glimmer spray like these. im glad i found this video. do you think it would be ok to use watercolor paint instead of acrylic?

  • Hi your video is great. Have you been able to make alcohol ink yet?? I followed another you tube and bought rubbing alcohol and mixed it with intense dyes but it didn't act the same as adirondack ones. It certainly didn't dry fast although it did dry under heat. But would like a better method and you seem to be the girl to do it. Will definately subscribe.

    thankyou

  • Thanks for sharing. I made my first bottle today and love how it turned out.

  • Thanks for the recipe. I'm new at scrap booking and I don't have the money to buy all those things.Glad I came across your video! Will watch many more.

  • OMG!!! I've loveee your videos!! I have watched like half of your videos in a day!!! Just subscribed!! :)

  • WATCHED YOUR VIDEO AND THEN MADE MINE WITH THE WATER AND MOD PODGE AND METALLIC PAINT IT TURNED OUT GREAT. THANKS SO MUCH. LOVE YOUR VIDEOS.

  • You and your little girl are too sweet. Thank you for sharing. I tried it after the video and I think I put too much glitter into the solution because it clogged up after a few sprays. LOL!! I think you alerted us about that on the video. I couldn't help it - I love glitter. Again, thank you so much for sharing your ideas. Always a pleasure.

  • I forgot to fix my typo at the end of the first line and I'm technically challenged; can't seem to delete it, sorry. Will ask the question having to do with the two different types of alcohol and the faux blending solution for alcohol inks. I heard Ethyl 70% mentioned and rubbing alcohol. Is Isopropyl good for both applications too?

  • @stampedinhisimage1 continued from previous response: ...you could try different types of alcohol out and see which you like best. OR just buy the blending solution hahahaha...what ever ends up being cheaper lol! Good luck...have fun. TFW Hugs Leanne :-)

  • I love your videos and want to save mfo==]]]]

Thanks for the money saving tips, I really need them. I was wondering the difference between using the foam blender and the felt one. I'm going to be making some and wondered should I put foam on one side of my block and felt on the other? Are they used on different type of inks? Do you know if both Ethyl and Isopropyl 70% alcohol can be used or just the Ethyl in the bottle rather than water to cut down the wrinkle to the papers?

  • @stampedinhisimage1 Hey there...as for the foam and felt...the felt is used for alcohol inks and the foam is used for mainly blending/distressing with distress inks. The foam could also be used with pigment & chalk inks. You can interchange the foam or felt on your blending tool...or designate one tool for just alcohol inks (which is what I do b/c it's so messy lol). As for the alcohol...I'm not sure on the types...I just bought rubbing alcohol and tried it out...

  • Another dollar store idea for glimmer....eye make up! Add it to the bottle instead or even with the paint for a cheap and awesome glimmer mist

  • Great idea. I'm always trying to find alternatives to products that are difficult to buy in so many different colors as I live in Pakistan and have to get most of my supplies fro the US which makes products like glimmer mist pretty expensive due to the shipping costs. Until now I have used Tim holtz's method of mixing my glimmer mists. But your method is great because i can easily get acrylic paints locally. THank you so much for sharing your great ideas and projects.

  • i would love to see some more homemade ideas.. I love them

  • aawww your daughter sounds very sweet :) i looooove your videos, you're very inspiring to me :)

    hugs,

    Rose

  • your daughter sounds as sweet as you do :)

Thanks for sharing all your ideas!

  • Very useful, THANKS!

  • Just watched your video! Great job! I haven't tried that pink colour for glimmer mist! I think I am going to go try it! I will let you know how it works. Great idea for the felt from the dollar store for your alcohol inks! I have never used those inks because I think they are too many for me! But, I am interested in your blending block.

  • Thank you for sharing your wonderful ideas. And your creations are just amazing! I was wondering that in some of your other videos, you glimmer mist with the mini misters filled with reinkers & PP. Do you prefer that combo versus the pearlized/mettalic acrylic paint & water combo? Do they look pretty much the same? Thanks again for all your great videos!

  • Ok that would definetley explain it. I used it on a lesser quality cardstock as practice so I didnt ruin my expensive cardstock if I messed up. I also let it air dry so I'm not sure if that would have made a difference than using a heat gun. Thanks for the tip on the lb of cardstock. Do you happen to know the name and brand of cardstock that is I'm totally going to get some tomorrow!!! I wish I lived or Canada or you lived here lol you make such wonderful creations I could surely learn from you!

  • @madbunnyz I would definitely heat set it...otherwise it will stay a bit curled. The name of the watercolour paper I use is: Acquarello Watercolour (Watercolour Studio - Cold Pressed 140lb), but any heavy watercolour paper works. The one I got came in a paper pad and you just pull out the paper along the perforated line. The size is 5 1/3" x 8 1/4" but I'm sure they come in much larger pads. You'll probably find it in the "art/painting" section of a craft store :-) Good luck ~ Leanne :-)

  • Hey I was so inspired by your glimmer mist I went and got the spray bottles and supplies, made the mist, tried to use it on a project and failed... :( Boo. I used it on a piece of cardstock but it curled my paper and looked bad :( I think I might be doing something wrong. Any tips?

  • @madbunnyz Hey there...when ever regular cardstock is sprayed with glimmer mist and is moistened...it will tend to curl as you heat set it...but if you continue heat setting it until it is completely dry...it usually flattens out nicely. It also depends on the quality of the cardstock you used. The heavier the cardstock, the less it tends to curl. You can also use watercolour paper. The kind I use is 140lbs wt and I love it! It has a lovely texture to it too. I hope that helps TFW ~ Hugs Leanne

  • Fantastic ;3 this is brilliant and so innovative.

  • These are PERFECT! I've just started getting into inking and stamping, etc. and I have been using the ranger color wash sprays, which I like, but the colors are limited and they are really dark, so I have been watering them down....But I have a box of acrylic paints that are rarely used! Bingo! Thanks for posting the video!

  • I have been using my old body spray mist bottles for this. Perfect mist

  • lol Thank you for responding to my comments. I truely appreciate it. What part of Canada are you? I live in Niagara Falls.

Oh boy...I've got a lot of work to do lol! But stay tuned TFW ~ Hugs Leanne :-D

  • Perfect Pearls does NOT need a "Fixative"--- WATER acts as the fixative.... PearlX and the other Micas, yes you do need a fixative.... just FYI

  • again Leanne, such a great video! Gonna check out the stores for those bottles and paints soon I guess ;-)

    xxDebbie

  • More great tips, I made some homemade glimmermist (I call mine Kimmermist) but I have a problem clogging the nozzle, work in progres....tfs

  • @KimScrapper lol I love it!!! Kimmermists hahaha! Too funny! So far...only my gold one clogged...but I soaked the nozzle in hot water...and it unclogged...it hasn't clogged again since...my fingers are crossed LOL! TFW!

    Hugs ~ Leanne :-)

  • @Luvleescrappin I didn't actually have perfect pearls or mica powder and tried to add eyeshadow that had mica in it, so that is what clogged it, looked pretty though for about 8 squirts....lol I am going to try again with out the pwdr.

  • I wish I had seen this video before I bought everything I did! >.< Oh, well, I will know better next time. ^_^
