  • braxton hicks do cause pain, maybe not in all women but i know i have had them and they werent severe pain you it was like a cramping pain...and so have other women that i know

  • hey they gave me one of those inhalers at the hospitol, thats so weared, it looks just like a baby bottle doesnt it?

  • My friend is 30 weeks and shes having what she thinks is BH but now that you talk about it, hers are actually hurting her.. at one point they told her she was further along than they thought then they changed it back again... so shes freaking out about it

  • a BH contraction should NOT hurt, but they can be uncomfortable. its a combp of what you have been told, no pain and no dialating

  • I know I'm going to sound stupid, but what exactly do they do at a chiropractor's appointment? Do they crack your back? Does is risk the baby at all? I'm guessing no to the last question, though.

  • Maternity jeans suck! (plus, I grew out of another pain so I am slightly bitter :-) I love the dress! It looks so comfy!

  • Lucy...I see a zillion doctors for all of my different medical issues. Especially living up in CT, I don't shave my legs in the winter (when I'm single, what's the point?). I don't wear skirts/dresses unless it's a special occasion. The doctors could care less and generally don't even notice if your legs are shaved. As long as you do your underarms and are clean, that's all they care about. It should be the least of your concerns... : )

  • Due date is exactly a month before me its getting so close! I am super excited for you! I watch all your videos I feel like an obsessed fan for saying that, but I'm not you just happen to have things to say that are educational for a first time mom like myself and it helps a lot and I wanted to say thank you for making them!

  • Oh don't you HATE round ligament pain! Funny about the whole shaving thing..I know what you mean. I hope you have a great delivery! I'm due with our 3rd baby (a boy) May 30th so we are pretty much the same number of weeks. Fun to watch your videos!

  • Hi, Lucy. What i was always told about Braxton's is that it is just ur body's way of practicing for real contractions. And they arent supposed to hurt or change ur cervix. so i guess ur midwife and OB would be right :)

  • Where did you get that dress? It's super cute! Is it maternity or just reg womens? I always keep my inhaler in my purse, just in case, even tho, i don't always need it. lol I think the contractions your having are braxton hicks. I always had a tightening in my stomach, but they never hurt. SO that is what i thought? I honestly think they are BOTH right, i mean when your having those, its painless, and it's not changing anything, when your really in labor it changes and they hurt! lol

  • Regular Womens. Well my are pain free BUT they are causing a change in my cervix.

  • Well, hopefully you will be staying preg, for at least a few more weeks! You seriously look so good tho!

  • I love the dress did you get them at Old Navy BTW if so i just got some and love super cute =)

  • where did you get the super adorable dress from?

  • when i was pregnant i would use the veet shower cream you just rub it on before you get in and when you are done u rub it off and the legs are smooth i loved it.

  • I saw your dress in both colors at Old Navy. They are super cute and the fabic is so soft!

  • Week 34!! It's alllllllmost baby time! Keep that inhaler on you at all times. Your Toys R Us story made me nervous for you girl! Take care!

  • Hah Ur telling me! It's something that is on my list of stuff to bring out the door. So I'm not use to doing it.

  • is there a limit as to when you can have your homebirth? I mean like if you went into labour say at 35 weeks could you still have a homebirth or would ypu have to go to the hospital so he get into the NICU? you look glowing :) x

  • Yes & No... My midwife said legally/safely deliver at home 36+ Weeks. How ever should we go into labor b4 that, it is up to US (Hubby & I) what we'd want to do. No one can stop you and say you CANT do that at home.. lol who's to know to begin with you know? Then more than likely he'd have to be transported to the NICU. How ever what would we actually do if that happened, don't know, and don't want to think about it, b/c I hope it never happens.

  • Your almost there.... how exciting!

  • Were you having a panic attack whilst going through this breathing attack?

  • Nope, and I know what those are

  • June 2nd is when I was due but I was born on May 30

  • Your Belly is getting so big.

looks like you are going to have a good sized baby lol

  • Braxton hicks contractions are basicly like practice contractions. It is your body getting ready for the real thing.

  • Your really pretty =)... good luck

  • Im so glad to hear the pain isnt anything serious :) I was worrying a little bit for you... WOW- thats a bit scarey, what happen in Toys R Us!!! I would hav freaked out!!! Obv i didnt have REAL contractions but i did get 2 feel Brax.- for me, my whole stomache went hard and tight, i didnt feel any pain. Gd 2 c ur feelin much better :) I think id rather antibiotics than do the garlic thing!!!

  • I HAVE HAD THEM DO BOTH, PAINLESS, AND PAINFUL. HENCE THIRD KID. IT MAY MAKE SENCE, BUT IT IS FRUSTRATING TO HEAR SOMEONE TELL YOU OH, BRAXTON DONT HURT. YOU ARENT HURTING. AND IM GLARING AT THE STUPID PERSON AND GRITTING MY TEETH, WANTING TO STAB THEM WITH THE NEEDLE! ALL I UNDERSTAND IS that they arent constant and not consistant, i will be okay.

  • Yes, I used to use the Inhailor and Spacior . . . . Those are AMAZING!!!!!!

  • garlic for gbs? i've never even heard of that.. did you have gbs w/ your daughter's pregnancy? did you do that??

  • Yes I did, It was treated w/ antibiotics at the hospital

  • so this time around is she having you treat it before labor? or are you going to still have a shot of antibiotics? i ask because my midwife was saying treating it now is pointless because the bacteria can and probably will come back at the time of deliver anyway, so the best option is a shot of abs at deliver to make sure there is no risk.

  • Were u not given any material to read up on the stats/facts of GBS? It doesn't sound like it from some of the things your saying? Far to much to explain in a comment. Let me see if the information I have has a web site associated with it that I could send to you.

  • ahh no i guess not?!

  • R u using a CNM? or CPM?

  • cpm

  • where are your dresses from? Their so cute!!

  • and you just said that, i should wait until the end to comment lol

  • haha i was just talking to my mom about shaving my legs (i cut myself for the first time since like middle schoo!!)..but i was saying i'm way too scared to let my husband shave them for me!

  • braxton hicks are painless. Real contractions HURT BAD LOL.

  • So u can not get a real contraction until your well into active labor?

  • If i understand correctly, Everything you said is true. Your cervix changes with real contractions only during th labor process and it's painful. Braxton hicks are painless nothing to worry about. Just your body practicing. We really need to find an ob who youtubes lol.

  • Ha I don't understand why there can't be ONE universal answer to that question.... lol It keeps all us non-experts confused.... I think the "experts" are the confused ones!!!! probably bc it's mostly MEN that are ob/gyns, what do they know anyways? lol Well my cervix changed from 0-5 cm dilation and 0-50% effaced with pain free contractions. So I still don't get it?

  • Plus I don't think someone can say BH are pain free adn real ones aren't, b/c EVERYONE has a different threshhold for pain... U know? I just thought about that. I might be able to tolerate far more pain than my neighbor and their neighbor might be able to tolerate far more pain than me.

  • I agree with that, So I guess labor is REALLY PAINFUL, I personally just found BH to be uncomftable, opposed to real ones knock me off my feet. Your probably just dialating slowly, and real contractions speed it up.... i dunno. Stupid men obg's lol

  • You look great Lucy :)
