Wait till you see the newer LED light bulbs. They'll push those too as a solution for the new mercury laden bulbs.

The "lights" ... light bulbs are a scam against the American People and those companies that manufacture here.
Aside from being environmentally dangerous, these are Fluorescent bulbs that require an internal "Ballast" (a transformer) to ignite the filament.
This burns MORE energy in the first minute than you would use in an hour with an ordinary incandescent bulb.
Unless you are a school or a business that has lights burning all day, they actually cost MORE money to operate.
Less for more.
