They had a bad run in the mid 90's with the trucks, but they were covered under warranty. I've come to the conclusion that all American brands are equally reliable IF you follow the prescribed maintenance schedule in the owner's
manual. You can get 200K miles regardless of make. I just prefer Fords but I don't 'dis' the other makes.

Well it can run a 11.2 with a badass driver and near perfect track conditions. Most drivers are able to manage very low 12's or high 11's. Still it would take a hell of a lot of power from a 8,000 pound truck to do that.

Second of all the 70's strangled the horsepower out of the engines, if it's a numbers matching vette than it probably has the 195hp 350, I'm not sure how much torque it has though but I'd be willing to bet it's somewhere in the mid 200's.

every body you see raceing corvettes and winning is because they are racing the old ones......the 2011 Z06 corvette runs a 11.2 second quarter mile stock!! it would take a 1200 horse power diesel truck to run that!!.....theirs a select few diesels on here that would run that ive only seen like 4 the ATS hazmax, the relentless diesel 12 valve, maxed out duramax, and matt moons duramax....i have 950 HP thanks to PPE and im in the high 11"s

11.2? Obviously that is not stock. The fastest STOCK Corvette in the 1/4 mile is around 11.78. That is the fastest I have seen one run. If you can find me a faster stock one I would like to see it. But no doubt it would take a hell of a lot of power for a 8,000 pound truck to run with that. But the fact that some do is remarkable.

The Corvette has been known as one of the absolute best handling cars for the money since the 2001-2004 Z06 broke into the 7:50 range on the Nurburgring. Which was beating the Ferrari 360 and Porsche 911s of then.
Now the C6 ZR1 is on par with the new Ferrari 458 Italia, Porsche 911 turbo, Lexus LFA, all running 7:38. Beats the Ferrari F430. Please be sarcasm.

Well it can run a 11.2 with a badass driver and near perfect track conditions. Most drivers are able to manage very low 12's or high 11's. Still it would take a hell of a lot of power from a 8,000 pound truck to do that.

No you're wrong.. And it's not called brute strengh power, it's called torque. Second of all the 70's strangled the horsepower out of the engines, if it's a numbers matching vette than it probably has the 195hp 350, I'm not sure how much torque it has though but I'd be willing to bet it's somewhere in the mid 200's.
And no shit, of course an 06 vette could beat a duramax. There'd be something seriously wrong with GM if their top sports car couldn't beat a their own trucks.
