Dude you're freakin' AMAZING!! I don't know why you have that one dislike. I've played alto sax for four years now, and I wish I could be this good! Haha so yeah, keep it up! And by the way, LoZ OoT is my favorite game of all time!
@shaddowlinkk Back then, I used Vandoren, but I don't like the "stiffness" of the cane even in the softer strengths. Now, I use either Légère synthetic reeds or Frederick Hemke. I'll use either or for pop/jazz, but only the Hemke for classical works.
@MegaCaleb55 Well, If you must know, I put in a bajillion hours practicing long tones and scales/arpeggios EVERY day, and I have the conceptualized sound that I want in my head, and I make it happen. Now-a-days, I also practice overtones which are kind of difficult. I haven't posted anything new in a whileeeeee, though. Also, it helps to have at least decent equipment.
your super good at sax! you know i play the sax too :P im in band 3 right now and i skiped band 2. i wanna learn the notes for song of storms cause it sounds awsome. plz add me on u-tube and send me a message with the notes.
Holy shit dude! I didn't find any good vids of this at first, and was planning on doing one myself, but now I'm not sure I want to be compared to you, you're too good!
My private lesson teacher, who has played sax all his life, moves around when he plays. As long as you keep your chest open (so you don't collapse your lungs) and keep a steady embouchure it should be fine
nice playing. It is a bad habbit to move around while you play. You can move a little. Keep your feet about shoulder length apart. Keep them steady. Keep your elbows out wider to stop the "flapping" motion too. You dont want people to be moving their heads like its a tennis match ( ; anyway. good playing. hope you take what i said into account
Everyone loves the so called "flapping" and moving around. It's a soloistic thing that invokes emotion into what one is playing. It's not a habit; it's an emotional thing that is only felt and utilized when I play something soulful. I would never do this "flapping" in a concert band/orchestral setting (unless I had a big time solo). That's just rude.
Well, I'm not at a contest. I'm having fun, so I continue to rock AND roll, and, daggum, it's spelled "H-A-B-I-T" and not "habbit". Loosen up some. Not everything has to be played by the books. Have you ever heard of that three letter word "fun"?
You posted your video on youtube... you are obviously looking for some constructive criticism. I said you played well, which you did, gave you some advice for later. But no... ok. That doesn't make sense to me.
Actually, I wasn't looking for any criticism. My music professors will take care of that. I'm just displaying my talents that God has so graciously bestowed upon me; therefore, it all goes back to that three letter word that I mentioned earlier, "fun".
criticism and constructive criticism are two very different things. Also I dont think you should post youtube videos if you are not going to accept advice...
That was absolutely amazing man.Awesomely great tone. Most sax players have awefulpitch, yours is amazing. And you also don't squeek on the higher notes.
Alto Sax is actually a popular double for bassoon players. Bassoon is going to be my concentration in college when this year starts. I don't have any bassoon vids though. u_u
I dont want to post videos of me playing. It's a personal thing. When I can learn that everyone makes mistakes and that I'll never be able to play anything PERFECT then I might.
I know exactly how you feel. I'm the same way when it comes to singing. But anyway the most experienced musicians make mistakes but the key is to recover so quickly that people are like, "S/He made a mistake? ¿Cómo se what?" lolz.
I love it! Your a very talented saxophone player. Your songs would sound even more awesome if you recorded the other parts and played with them, but still very nice
2. That's a tough question to answer 'cause I don't play in the band anymore at my high school, but here's the rundown from middle school to the present: Flute in 6th grade for about 5 months (I still play for fun), then I switched to Bassoon for 5 3/4 years (I stopped playing 'cause I dropped band. I plan to continue in college.), Saxophone for almost 2 1/2 yrs. (I play at church). I plan to major in either saxophone performance or Bassoon performance when I go to college. IDK yet.
Amazing

Its a habbit and not a good one. Rocking back and forth is a "good" habbit. I play saxophone, trust me, i know. It lost me a contest.
