It's a little more complicated than a fishtail braid. Plus it's much more vertical looking finished up rather than slanting at an angle somewhat.

Just a thing, when I get it over my shoulder it starts to look more like a normal plait even though I am following the same routine and it looks right at the top of my head but not a the bottom; my hair is about three inches above my waist.

I just have to say I absolutely LOVE your hair and I think you are SO pretty and have such gorgeous hair. I wish my hair looked just as healthy. I've been trying to grow it out for the longest time but every time I get the ends trimmed, she cuts off SO much more than I want and ends up making it a couple inches past my shoulders.

I used to do this with lanyard when I was little and went to day camps. It's amazing that you can do it with hair. Unfortunately it doesn't work for me. Should your hair be a certain volume for this to work? Is it easier to do this style with wet, damp, or dry hair?

@BethanArlette Fishtail braid is a little different. You can see in here she use the same section and gradually add some other strand. In fishtail braid you need to always alternate the section. But yeah, the basic is the same

Instead of a figure 8 braid, calling it an infinity braid would make more sense. The infinity symbol is pretty much just an 8 on it's side and that's what you're doing here. :) Very nice braid.
