The light is a soul trap people, the song is great but like all religions hollywood movies etc it brainwashes you to go to the light after death, what happens is they erase your memories and send you back to be reborn, you expect to continue living after death but you never questioned if you lived before birth and why you can't remember. Google "the real death memory erasing" and from the movie cowboys & aliens it looks that even if you look at the light your memories will start fading.
