This was a PR stunt for a GM car, they obviously wouldnt allow any car that might out shine it, No E63 there either. The Audi has 24 more horses, but the Caddy has about 70 more foot lbs. of torque. Current 0 to 60 mph times give Caddy a slight edge. Win or lose, this would be a pretty close race and I doubt the winner would proclaim that they ate the other 1 for lunch. You're right about the Caddy being a great car when you consider it can be bought for well under $70,000.
So if the EVO was allowed into this challenge than it's a good thing caddy didn't look over the pond because the Mitsubishi Lancer EVO FQ430 would probably reck a CTS-V... i mean i love CTS-V's but if this was in any way a fair fight(which it wasn't) then Caddy would have invited the real competition... A car is only as good as it's driver and if you watch the Race video you'll see that !ST place went to a Caddy factory race driver.
if you look on the bmw forums the kid who drove the m3 said that after he drove the cadillac around the course that the cadi was the fastest car out there. If he says its faster than why do all these euro trash fanboys still claim the m cars are faster???

The results are misleading. The M3 was the fastest amateur. Redman, Link, and Heinricy, are all professional drivers for GM. IF that is going to be comparison, then open it up to the other manufacturers to bring their pro's.
I'm all for promoting the CTS-V; it's a great car, but mucking with the numbers is just poor form.
Mercedes and Jaguar both promised to give cars to journalists to drive in the event. They BOTH pulled out, Jaguar explicitly citing lack of confidence with their car's braking system.
I've driven a XF-R on this very track and the brakes seemed quite good but it was raining pretty hard so they weren't being taxed as much as they could have been.
Yeah, the next Audi RS car as well as the BMW M5 are gonna be off the scale of awesomeness. But I'm kind of said there was no E63 AMG or B8 Audi S4 which is much better than B7 RS4.
Cadillac is just sad.

I think the porshes have the only chance against the cts'v right now.
because they are so small, they will have better agility (in the corners). And they usualy pack a nice enough engine in the bay.

Doubtful, Nordschleife doesn't mean anything because times can vary drastically based on traffic and track conditions.
