YT kids still think RAP lyricism is about gangster shit. It doesn't matter how chill and soulful a jam is they're still going on about money stacks and removing people in some way or another...
If you don't live that life, you can't relate. And even if you do, we still like to hear far more complex yet universal concepts... Unless the audience is trying to escape your life of mundanity and imagine something far more exciting...

@DanielBombastic Yeah and I respect that. I don't even mean to say a rap lyric should be aspiring to some great feat of knowledge, because that's crossing lines with other aspects of life that don't need to rhyme in order to stimulate.
What I'm getting tired of is the predictable words within the same context of angst. I read that stuff and I just hear an angry kid who does none of that. But hey, if people wanna escape into that then it's cool... I just wish they'd get a better vocab XD
