WOW !!!! I almost forgot how bad this song was !!!! I can understand David Allen doing this type of a project, but unfortunately it was a "jump the shark" moment for The Sharks. One of the finest bands to come out of Albany during the early 80's. The one good thing about coming across this video was it reminded me of great times. I was fortunate enough to have the privilege of working with The Sharks as their lighting technician. It's good to see the guys again and I truly hope all are well
Wow, I just found this. I wrote the Official Song for the Albany Tricentennial Celebration which never got any airplay, but I did get a check for $500. "Oh, Albany" was a really good song, but I don't get to play it now that I live in Florida. So now I write Florida songs. Maybe I should record the song and post it. I never did like this song.
seriously i cannot understand how this was ever seen as acceptable, even in the 80s. Like aren't there just some things that universally make humans cringe across the board, no matter what the historical or cultural context is? Like i feel like if i showed this to a medieval peasant he would just shake his head and say "wow."
@IxILegendary Columbia High School is a very, very common name, and a two second google search turns up a Columbia High about 3 miles from downtown Atlanta, which is where he was born. No way he's from EG
I remember seeing this on TV at my friend's house on Lancaster street in 1986. She said she'd make a video for me and then she lost the tape. I was broken hearted, never thinking I'd hear the song again.
Now, thru the wonders of the internet, I have, and CORN LIVES!!!!
