  • Great vid. How much weight is that?

  • signor miletto non vorrei essere impertinente ma sta piegando il braccio prima di aver finito l'estensione dei fianchi.. almeno questo noto dal video!

  • Great technique dude...thanx for the vid, i always refrence it the mornings when i plan to do snatches...my gym (planet fitness, hey it's only $10/mth) won't allow barbell snatches so i have to do dumbell...again thanks

  • @dn500092 I guess you have never laid eyes on an olympic weightlifter before? It's not a sin to only know bodybuilding but there is much more to weight-training than BB. (ie. Powerlifting, Olympic lifting, strongman). Keep an open mind and don't bag on things you haven't tried.

  • who are all these fools who seem to have trouble grasping that being generally fit is not the same as being big? incidentally, all the guys i know who eat drink and shit olympic lifts like this and their variations look a lot better than any bodybuilding pussy, are stronger than any of the body building juiced up pricks and would completely wipe the floor with any of them in power, speed and endurance terms also.

  • @TheBoyupstairs

    THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The instant the bodybuilders/juice-heads step on to a sports field or basketball court they have no chance.

Olympic Lifts are King. God Speed!

  • Yeah even from someone who hasn't been lifting weight for a long time, this looks both dangerous and ineffective.

  • @db500092 LOL, how about you comment on this when you have been lifting weights for a long time, then you'll realise how dumb this comment is. You don't understand explosive power and training, so why make a stupid comment highlighting your ignorance?

  • @AzzCatz It's neither compound or isometric. It will just kill the shoulders. Surely you must know that the slower you lift weights the better you'll build muscle...

  • @db500092 It's not about building muscle, it's about building explosive power. And it IS a compund exercise. Not everyone is training to get huge, athletes train a lot different to body builders. It is a different style of training, for people with different goals other than hypertrophy. It isn't dangerous either, with correct technique.

  • @db500092 dunno why I said isometric meant isolation. Just to me it doesn't seem effective is all.

  • @db500092 WTF? thats only partially true, and even then only at a stretch. yes there is a proven relationship between cross sectional muscle area and force production. but the idea you always lift at some bullshit 4 second negative pace is too simplistic. even those training for hyperthrophy should still be using dedicated strength and power cycles in their periodised training plans. unless they dont know what they are doing.

  • GREAT DEMO Video! :)

  • you have an amazing ass

  • COOL VID

  • i used todo it with the olympic bar and 80 kg

  • Does that T shirt comes in a mans size

  • ouch!!!! thats really rough on your shoulder...

  • Which muscles groups is the DB Snatch targeting??

  • for all of the experts out there..why the fuck are you watching avideo on how to snatch if you're suck know-it-alls.

  • nice form bud , keep it up

  • bravo, hai delle belle esecuzioni

  • Form looks very good compared to a lot of other videos on youtube. But you have to go to full squat position otherwise it's more a power DB snatch.

  • Good job man. One of the few videos that shows a true snatch with good form.

  • that is not a very safe move I would not recommend that do to the levell of intesity needed and strength so for a beginner or moderate person I woudl never recommend that

  • start light, and use perfect form. as with any new exercise

  • @jrwhistler Dude, This exercise is ideal for any kind of person, whether he or she is a begginer or pro. People are scared of doing such great compound lifts and instead they are doing lots of bicep curls and tricep kickbacks...but I guess it all depends on your goal O.o

  • Scusate per me quest'esercizio è più facile da eseguire rispetto alla variante con bilanciere è una questione di coordinazione? Why this exercise is for me easier to execute than with a barbell? It's a problem of coordination? Grazie! Thanks!

  • What muscles does this work? lats?

  • No idea, but they aren't designed for "ripped lats" moreso they are designed for increasing the only thing that matters, strength.

  • oh k cool, id rather not do it since it looks like u need really perfect form or u can hurt yourself. oh well i still do chin ups for strength

  • This is from a different school of thought than the isolated movement camp. If you're using steroids or have naturally high hormone levels, and are seeking a bulky body, then isolated movements, huge amounts of carefully planned food, etc are the way to go. If on the other hand you aren't so "advantaged" and want a functional body, then a mixture of non-isolated training is the way to go. Some days one does heavy compound movements, other days endurance training, other days sprinting and lifting

  • @momentinpassing -Very true...

  • not even close.

  • i know this is way better but im still growing and i dont want any back injuries

  • fk stupid

  • zomg weight heaven

  • my favorite exercise. effortless - when you get it right - is such a sweet spot.

  • Good form!

  • are you supposed to use momentum for this exercise?

  • yes, the snatch is all about explosion. You want to utilize the power of your legs to throw the weight up over your head. Start out with a weight light enough that you don't even have to pull. As you up weight make sure you're still exploding through it. The upper body, as shown here, should stay strong and upright with the only pull coming from the shoulder like a shrug. The main challenge is jump all the way through full leg extension and then quickly sink back down to get under the weight.

  • no, you purely deltoid lift this. LULZ

  • yes. the snatch is an excellent explosive movement.

  • well done. Thanks for the demo

  • buon lavoro (Y)

  • Great Job ! You are doing the "hang snatches".

Now try snatching "ground up", and all the way UP, then controlled down, without stops at the shoulder (that would be a "clean" on the way up)in either direction.

  • He does a great job and has an admirable physique. His performace helped me understand better how to execute this exercise.

  • Bulgarin li si? Sei bulgaro, forse?! Just curious

  • You're little brother asked for his t-shirt back.

  • Lmao!

  • hahahah good one.

  • LMAO

  • @gantman Your, not you're. You're = You are.

  • Great job! This is my fav exercise. Helps explosive power big time.

  • mamma mia che stile!!!

  • ma a che serve qsto esercizio?cioè potresti spiegarmelo bene(ke parte lavora,il xkè di qsta esecuzione, eventuali benefici)

  • I like to do less squat when I do it. One of the guys that train at the gym i go told me you wanna do a lot of hip in it. Basically squat down with the DB in the middle with the chest out. Then explode upwards and make like your D!ck is touching the mirror. thrust the hips out and throw that DB up. Then bring it down basically the same way he does it on the video. Im up to 75lbs one hand. goal is 100 by august.

  • Ok! Your work it's perfect!

    My video it's only demo...

  • Awesome form bro. I love the snatch personally . as a boxer i find its excellent for improving explosive power from head to toe.

  • Funny you mention that because I thought that it would be excellent for boxers or martial artists; it enables you to translate the strength developed via slower weightlifting exercises into quick power. Anyway, Bruce Lee used these in his wt. lifting regimen.

  • @studiomiletto your form was perfect.... forget these super strong youtube experts

  • @Melenahenahe

i agree u wanna throw your hips forward more as you explode upwards.

Have worked with multiple strength coach with masters and doctors degrees.

hit me up if you got questions

  • great form!

  • Is it wrong if u dont do the squat part

  • Completely.

  • not true. the squat part merely puts some stress on the quads. if you want to do quads do some squats.

  • How heavy is that dumbell?

  • Great flexibility in the shoulders not everybody can get the dumbbell over there head in a squat position.

  • Thanks for the great demonstration. But who works out in jeans?

  • dude get some glasses he's not wearing jeans. lol.

  • Excellent technique - this is how it should look!

  • niiiiiiice technique

  • Great form, dude - you are strong!
