I read this series of books many years ago during my junior high days for some reason they were so popular amongst everyone both male and female and we all read them...pretty fascinating world VC andrews created too bad movie was never quite good I vaguely remember seeing as a child before reading those books several years later... This is one movie that definitely needs to be remade... the whole series is so full of drama and violence would make an excellent miniseries
heh heh anyone read the book? in the book the mother says she does goto the hospital and puts cory under a fake name so he will not be found out. the book is much better than this, and its a lot different. they dont come during the morning they come around the time where the sun is nnot up and the butler does not see them once at all. anyone read the book?
@IPartyRockAnthem im actually reading the book right now! im at the part where they get to the house, and the grandmother opens the door right away, like she knew they were coming! im only on page 45 out of the whole book. i have lots more to read. i hope its better then the movie, the movies not bad but the books always better then the movie!
@MissMissy1997 I honestly don't remember why this part was so short, but I know there was a good reason for it. It might have had to do with using windows movie maker. I think it had cut this scene when I was dividing into 10 minute clips. It's been a few years.
I've yet to read the other books. I was hooked onto Flowers In The Attic, though I have to admit, I needed to read it twice in order to understand the whole story. And I've still a hundred questions in my head about all the directions in which the story goes. Wonder if our local library would have the sequels...
@LemonWaxProductions Um, no.. didn't Corrine admit that he died on the way to the hospital so she dumped his body in a ditch? Or am I not remembering something?
@OCintoM21 if you read the books you would know that she did get some. Corrine and her older brothers (who all died) were all products of rape. the grandfather only married her for the money she would inherit from her mother. but when they found out that only she would be able to touch the money he raped her for children. that's why she wears the black dress...so he won't want to touch her.
@sassycookergirl Well he never wanted to touch her in the first place. He only had sex with her for children, and it wasn't rape since she didn't even say no but she just laid there and let it happen. In the book during the first son's conception it says she was hoping for some loving words or affection but didn't get any. He married her for her money, period and went out and cheated on her with different beautiful women in town. Corinne's conception, on the other hand, was rape.

What happens to Cory in this movie absolutely breaks my heart. Poor little guy had no chance with human garbage for parents and grandparents.

"Cory is sick"-closes door and gets bible- like women lets hurry up the stairs and let's get a doctor

If people think that all Christians act like that grandmother, they are wrong. Only crazy psychotic zealots act that way.

I just read the prequel which explains why the grandmother was like this. All the books were good.

I'm that same way, only I have to read a book over 10 times for me to get or at least remember things in a book. I still have to read the first one.
