man this was my first show i was 16 and its changed my life i went the rest of the yrs on tour thanks to THE WRECKING CREW BRUCE CAROL RAC EDDIE STRETCH thanks to u guys i found the hieght on the off time , and now retired on my ssi . but this shows it THIS WAS........!THE LAST OPEN CAMPING PARKING SHOW . ROB STUBBS STARLING
@TheKhaibear U KNOW EVEN THO IT WAS MY FIRST SHOW AND ALL ITS TO ME NOW AFTER ALOT OF SHOWS OF COURSE A PRETTY DECENT SHOW . SO IT WASNT LIKE THE ONE TO SEE THAT YR I THOUGH RFK FOLLOWING WAS PRETTY TIGHT. STUBBS
I loved Pigpen and Keith (Tom C. not so much) but I gotta say Brent was the best keyboard player the band ever had. When he died their decline was precipitous:-(
I was at that show too. Hopped the wall from the seats with my now ex-husband to get as close to Bobby as possible :D Thanks for posting! Brings back great memories!
@dvssk8er3 Yes. Especially the resurrgence of the band after Jerry's near death experince in 86'. The late 80's Dead is some of my favourite as well. I really like Brent.
Best "Let It Grow" I ever saw. I mean just look at them. They meant business! There was another great one in April of 89 to close a first set in Chicago (Rosemont) second night of a three nighter, but this one had that Truckin' >Smokestack>Spoonful>Smokestack>He's Gone>Space/Drums(Wharf Rat) I think it was the night Abby Hoffman died... WOW! Both of them make it into my top three. The "third" being (believe it or not) Miami 94'. Great show. 89's and 94's were great shows. "Some" 93's and 88's.
wow what a year 89 was, saw every show but 2 miss the fat man, still makes me sad 15 years l8r that i will never see him play again live. This video is a great reminder of what was and the best Jam band ever
I was there in '89..............I feel like I am there again right now...awesome video and sound. Thanks for posting an important momentary piece of my life!!!!!!
What a fine recording and video. An impeccable performance! Can't believe I saw over 40 Dead shows at the Spectrum and never made one at JFK. So grateful we have so much of this fine music recorded!
GREAT FOOTAGE OF AN ALL TIME GREAT JAM. IT WOULD BE NICE TO SEE THE ENTIRE WEATHER REPORT SUIT INTO LET IT GROW TOO.
IF YOU LIKE THIS, GET THE DVD TRUCKIN' UP TO BUFFALO, MY HOMETOWN WHERE THE DEAD PLAYED ON JULY 4TH '89 - I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO BE THERE WHAT SEEMS AGES AGO AND IT WAS GREAT.
