This footage is not only not RAW but no way it represents the GY-HM100 - are you sure it wasn't shot with your phone?

Check out any other HM100 video, they are excellent quality, unlike this...

wow for $3500 this thing should not blow out highlights as it does- real shame on JVC's part..........the only "real" plus on this JVC is the ability to record FCP native clips- other than that the $1999 Panasonic HMC40 is a better camcorder for $1500 less!!!!!

are u that guy from that tattoo show? yea I agree - the dynamic range is terrible - which is why I sold mine in the end - but everything else is ok - for ya money you can buy a better cams

I now have a GH1 which is 3rd of the price and gives a much better pic.

No, I'm not from the tattoo show, I'm just an avid user of these prosumer cameras and was very excited about this HM100 until I saw the footage and saw how badly it handles high contrast lighting and highlight areas- very disappointing for a $3500 camera............it's basically a HD7 with SD recording- terrible!

I have to agree with those who want to see some human subjects (both moving and still) shot with this camera. Everything you've been showing us looks amazing, but I really want to see how the HM100 treats humans. There are tidbits in your other videos, but I think you should do one for this purpose. And by the way, the low light stuff is really sharp!

here is no over crank like on the EX1 but 720p50 (or 60) when slowed in NLE to 25 or 30fps gives v good results

Color and detail are very goodt! Besides the few short sides of this camera (1/4" CCDs and 10x zoom) it looks like it could a great camcorder!
