Proof positive that people who succeed at creating TV sitcoms cannot always transfer that same success to producing movies on the silver screen. The "TV sitcom" and "MTV" generation might find this version "fun." But those of us who understand how good writing, direction, scoring and casting actually worked prior to TV sitcoms and "reality" programming know better. Lately, it seems like the dummy-down syndrome is evident in a lot of current American cinema. The 1939 original makes this one pale.
Sluggish on the onset but loved the end...well worth the wait.. if you are 40+ you will so totally get this movie.
