THERE WILL NEVER, EVER BE A RUNNING BACK AS GRACEFUL, POWERFUL, FLUID, AND DURABLE AS THE GREAT WALTER PAYTON. HE WAS A GREAT MAN ON AND OFF THE FIELD, NEVER GAVE IN AND FOUGHT TO THE VERY END, MAN I MISS MY CHILDHOOD HERO, IT'S BEEN 11 YEARS SINCE HIS PASSING, HARD TO BELIEVE, R.I.P.SWEETNESS!!!!!!!!
It is really quite simple, our childhood heroes should never die before us,so it would seem, but this man was simply the greatest football player I ever have had the privilege to watch, growing up in Chicago. There will never be another runner to carry that ball the way Walter did, to block the way he did, and he was always TEAM FIRST, stats second! He was so graceful on that football field. R.I.P. MY HERO, heaven has quite a team up there now
I don't care what anyone says, Walter Payton was the greatest running back to ever play the game. He also had a respect for the game and carried himself like a true legend. The players of today could have learned alot from him. He was not a showboat and actually shied away from the spotlight. Sweetness you are still missed, but not forgotten. Thank You for posting such a wonderful tribute to him. Emmitt you may have the record, but you played on alot better teams than Sweetness.
i thank god that 34 got to play for chicago. best highlights ever of him. it shows his heart on the field and off the field. there will never be any1 like him again
The video was very good.....Didn't care for the song though. Such a great man and he is so greatly missed. I so loved him. I named my daughter after him..."Payton". She knows he was an amazing football player - but more than that he was a great MAN ! Period.
He must have taken a lot of late hits in his career because you never knew when he was really down. I could see defensive players getting penalized for a late hit and then screaming at the ref "it's payton we never know when he's really down."
Just awesome. I am a guy, & let me tell you this whole video tribute sends chills up & down me while I watch it, & tears are in my eyes. That's Sweetness. No one played the game like he did. NO ONE! And, no one ever will again. He would have played for $500 a game, and played exactly the same way, not an ounce less. I always think of my Grandma when I watch him run. He was her favorite athlete in any sport. She loved him! She died just a year & a half b4 he found out he might die too.
the best running back that ever played or ever will play the game again

I think this song would be inappropriate due to the fact that Walter Payton never surrendered.

Why do the best people on this planet have to die so early? He was incredible, not only on the field but off.
Thanks for posting.
RIP Walter, you were incredible... from a Packer fan.
