@montreal961 Sorry but I don't believe it will. It is mainly used to just remove dirt and whiten the shoe to an original white. I have used the RIT method on a pair of OG Concords and it was VERY HARD to remove yellowing on just the mesh. It won't hurt to try it honestly. I just haven't had a pair of shoes with yellowing leather for me to even try this on. LMK how it turns out!
People keep asking me the same questions over and over! Everyone wants to know what materials it can clean and to be sure, most name specific shoes! This method will clean:

Any suggestions on cleaning yellowed mesh and netting on AJ 4's. I am trying to restore the 1999 retro. Also have some 7's with yellowed rubber on front. What can remove that yellow? Thanks bro
@santinomacario I would suggest chemicals that remove yellowing such as seaglow or retro brite. You can make or purchase retro brite from restoremysneakers com. For yellowed mesh, I would recommend Barkeepers Friend which is very simple to use. Mix it with water until is turns into a paste and rub it over your shoes.
@prettythug62494 Thanks brotha. Do I use the sea glow or retro bright on the rubber of the sole or on the 7's or on the netting of the 4's or both? I am gonna try and I will keep you updated. Appreciate the help man.
@TheSneakerHits You would need to use nail polish remover. Nail polish remover is light enough to remove the paint without making marks unless you rub hard.
@Rayquon95 I know just the think. There are kits that you can buy for this. Go to my youtube channel and click on the search bar right above the videos on my page and search "Suede Shoes." The very first video that is a tutorial will help TREMENDOUSLY!
@prettythug62494 and on the part thats white by the heel i can use your whitening method? also for the heel tab, do you know anything to clean scuffs?
@sosbrigaders I wouldn't use a cup because you wan't the water to boil so that the powder will actually dissolve into the water. You could use a q-tip id you want but think about, the toothbrush will cover way more ground than the q-tip will.
First off all you make great videos and I would love and die to see your AJ3 Fire Red Restoration cause I bought a used pair off ebay and it would need a restoration too and your videos would really help me out :)
My question: why are you using so much things like I understand that you use rit + water to wash it off but why are you using detergent AND even soap? Is there any benefit of using these extra? Wouldnt rit + water + detergent last?
@oOoDaEnGoOo THanks. I really appreciate your support. I haven't even had time to work on them but I will post a video as soon as the next phase is finished. Well the extra item just help to remove some of the chemicals in the RIT mix. The detergent also has an effect in the whitening process but it just all helps to remove the chemicals. More of an extra precaution.
@MotocrossRacer138 Yes it will! All you have to do is pay the seams special attention and apply the process as many times as needed to get the desired results.
@shs510 Yes it will. The texture of the shoe won't matter. The only damage that will result is if you decide to rub hard and remove the paint from the leather. Take your time and the shoes will be fine.
i just got some af1 few days ago, they are DS, but i don't know why some parts of the white mid sole turn slightly little pink, i know this can't because of the time, cuz these af1 i got just released not long time ago, so do you think I can use this Rit color remover to fix it? and the bottom soles of my af1 are light gray, so i don't want to leave the Rit liquid on the gray part, do i?
@pandamant666 That's interesting. Are you sure pink isn't a part of the colorway? That's not exactly ordinary unless something has happened to the shoes. If you want to try it go ahead is all I can say. The light pink might be intentional because I have seen a pair of AF1's with a gold-like upper and a light pink midsole. I believe it had pink laces too. (is that what you have?)
@pandamant666 Part 2. I have gotten RIT on outsoles accidentally and it has had no effect so you should be fine though you shouldn't do it on purpose. lol. What you should worry about touching would be actual materials with some substance to them. Materials that have paint. The outsole is just a rubber that's coated and that paint won't come off, but paint on leather and etc. will. LMK how it goes. Peace!
I need help cleaning my Nike Dunk SB Melvins(white). Do you know how to clean them? They're canvas, but detergent with bleach isn't helping(don't think i'm doing it right though)
@iBcPirate So sorry. I missed this comment when I was out of town! I have seen people bleach them and end up with a black faded swoosh. Try the RIT method. It works on canvas too.
P-thug I been gettin my rit at craft stores ie AC Moore or michaels it's a few cents more there but ID RATHER NOT GIVE WAL-MART MY MONEY,anyway I have a sneaker restoration company launching in a few months (online based, but maybe a shop as business grows) where u can call get estimates and ship ur shoes to b restored fully with similar methods u use plus many more I've been doin it for yrs in my area but it time to get GRINDIN'.some don't know how to restore or scared too or don't have the tim
@02blackmamba it depends on what part you are talking about. The leather on the toe is white but as far a s I can recall, the suede upper(elephant print) is a neutral grey.
@theG00NEttE LMAO! You would think so as many times as I referred viewers to buy products from there....Walmart carries thousands of products and brands lol....but honestly, I could care less about Walmart. I go about 5 times a year and thats only when I can't find items elsewhere....Walmart is the last resort lol.
ok bro, i got some 1994 chicago 1s.. but a previous owner decided to color the tongue black, but now its like a faded black, you think RIT would remove it and give it that bright white feeling?
my friends concords have a stain but i dont think its from yellowing. i thinks its from juice or something. do you think rit will make it come off? please respond asap
@ed2170 Are you saying that you got a white colored scratch on black shoes? You can uses soap and water to try to remove the majority. If you aren't successful, use black shoe polish or black paint polish to cover up the scratch.
@prettythug62494 by using soap and water as you suggested it work but take lots of time to clean up but i like you suggestion! Thank You. appreciate your help.
Did you ever try this on a pair with white patent leather? My Jordan XX3 "All Star" editions have the yellow tongue problem and I was wondering if you [1] own a pair of those shoes [2] know anyone who does and/or [3] If you've ever cleaned a pair of shoes like this?
@RyanAblan21 Yes it will work.(In the video, I demonstrated the product on white midsoles lol). I have not tried the whitener brightner but I should consider it. When it comes to mesh, RIT gets the shoes SUPER white the first few times but after a few times, it won't become as bright but maybe thats just me. A product called Bar Keepers Friend which is very similar will get the white mesh very white in comparison to RIT Color Remover.
@rablan I do not know. I have never tried to cover up bleach stains on shoes because I have never had one lol. I would say it would be worth a shot since RIT is strong and more than one chemical is being used in this process.....
@rablan It does not work for just one shoe in particular. It can work on white shoes as long as they have leather or mesh. I have seen it affect yellowed patent leather as well.
@pimpmaster5465 Whitening does not have an effect on that particular material. On the back tab of 3's you will have to either paint them or leave them as is. The mars blackmon 4's? or the Bred 4's? As far as I know they both have black tabs....where will WHITENING come into play? lol
@marcos18herrera This tutorial can help you do that if you need to whiten mesh or leather, this is your tutorial. For yellowed midsoles or something, you will need sandpaper.
@100JamesX Thanks. No, not really. The "chutney" pair was very dirty. TO have good lighting, I have bright lights setup so you can't really see the differences. Don't hesitate to try it. I assure you, you will be satisfied with your results.
my little cousin scribbled with pen on my nikes all over the shoe with many layers of ink. it is a mix of patent and tumbled leather. i dont have rit by i tried regular detregent with oxiclean and some sopy water. it helped a lil bit but yo u can still she most of the marks. will rit help?
@wadawadaFTW wow is all I can say lol. RIT is a cheap product(about $3 per 20z. box) In the video I have bright lighting, so you might not be able to tell the difference but RIT is a great whitening product. For the patent leather, if you ever have any scuffs, or other marks, you can use nail polish remover to get it off. Don't rub hard of else it can actually erode the patent leather.
@shychick96 I have NEVER had that happen. Did you follow the instructions? You used ALL the products I used, not the same brand but the SAME PRODUCT? Let me know, and I can see how I can help you.
@MrFlyguyny no problem. It just so happens I have a highly rated video tutorial on doing so. In the youtube search bar, search "prettythug62494" and it should be the video at the top of the results
@TheCaptnAwesomee. Thanks. There is an ironing method you can do but there is one side effect. The leather is thinned so the toebox will become very flimsy. Just saturate the toebox with water. Cover the toe with a wet towel and iron away. Be careful because if you iron off of the towel, the paint could be stripped completely.
I kinda wanna see a before nd after of a really messed up shoe that one looked pretty clean at first. But for the most part I'm feelin yah sevens nd elevens. Nd btw how are ur mocha threes u restored?
@pooksss45 lmao. I thought about buying a pair of beater but then I said I would just work with what I had lol. Thanks. Like I said in my vid, I flipped the mochas for a pretty penny. I WILL COP ANOTHER PAIR SOON!
@pandavex haha...Most people are ready to fight. I'm not that quick tempered. I know how to restore sneakers so its no problem to me. I have respect at my school so you can say and people just apologize. Sometimes they brush off my shoes in respect. Thats all.
@integrafreak1 NOT AT ALL. Just because they say authentic doesn't make it true. Youwon't know until they arrive because half the time they have pictured items of authentics and you get fakes. If it says WHOLESELLER or WHOLESALE period, it is a fake. You can never buy shoes straight from a manufactorer.
@cristianmdn I doubt it seeing that the product was created for fabrics. You can try it if you would like, it might just work. I would suggest you try light soap and water on the watch.
Prettythug and his tutorials!!!! lol, great vid bro, im gonna post a new video prob by next friday and after that i am not expecting anything until the 13s, so i was thinking we might be able to start working on one of our ideas, just hit me up

@pandamant666 That's interesting. Are you sure pink isn't a part of the colorway? That's not exactly ordinary unless something has happened to the shoes. Very nice tutorial, but it seems ur shoes were already a bright white to begin with
100JamesX 1 year ago
@100JamesX Thanks. No, not really. The "chutney" pair was very dirty. TO have good lighting, I have bright lights setup so you can't really see the differences. Don't hesitate to try it. I assure you, you will be satisfied with your results.
prettythug62494 1 year ago
my little cousin scribbled with pen on my nikes all over the shoe with many layers of ink. it is a mix of patent and tumbled leather. i dont have rit by i tried regular detregent with oxiclean and some sopy water. it helped a lil bit but yo u can still she most of the marks. will rit help?
wadawadaFTW 1 year ago
@wadawadaFTW wow is all I can say lol. RIT is a cheap product(about $3 per 20z. box) In the video I have bright lighting, so you might not be able to tell the difference but RIT is a great whitening product. For the patent leather, if you ever have any scuffs, or other marks, you can use nail polish remover to get it off. Don't rub hard of else it can actually erode the patent leather.

Do you know how to remove Creases/Wrinkles on leather sneakers? Awesome video by the way im going to walgreens to clean my nikes
TheCaptnAwesomee 1 year ago
@TheCaptnAwesomee. Thanks. There is an ironing method you can do but there is one side effect. The leather is thinned so the toebox will become very flimsy. Just saturate the toebox with water. Cover the toe with a wet towel and iron away. Be careful because if you iron off of the towel, the paint could be stripped completely.

pandavex 1 year ago
@pandavex haha...Most people are ready to fight. I'm not that quick tempered. I know how to restore sneakers so its no problem to me. I have respect at my school so you can say and people just apologize. Sometimes they brush off my shoes in respect. Thats all.

should i trust cheapmass
integrafreak1 1 year ago
@integrafreak1 NOT AT ALL. Just because they say authentic doesn't make it true. Youwon't know until they arrive because half the time they have pictured items of authentics and you get fakes. If it says WHOLESELLER or WHOLESALE period, it is a fake. You can never buy shoes straight from a manufactorer.

@cristianmdn I doubt it seeing that the product was created for fabrics. You can try it if you would like, it might just work. I would suggest you try light soap and water on the watch.
