Am I wrong or the box straight was split in two because a single lap consisted in the actual course plus high speed ring?

@nuccese You are right. Imagine the circuit, when used with the banking, as a figure of 8. In one lap, once they would be on the right hand side of the main straight and turn onto the banking, once they would be on the left hand side and go straight on towards Lesmo. Makes sense?

@roydpg Yes, it makes sense indeed. Thank you for the explanation, what a marvellous race it was. In 1969 two lucky people went to the moon but I would have preferred to hang on the Monza banks on a 312 barchetta!

@roydpg Grazie per la risposta! Mi è venuta questa curiosità dopo aver visto una foto di un 124 spider ritratto poco prima della parabolica dietro alle due Ferrari 312 e, possedendo anch'io un 124 spider, mi sono sempre chiesto chi fossero i piloti e cosa facessero lì in mezzo a quei bolidi!!!

@thash1127 I'll try and find out how many degrees but it was more than Talladega, the film does not give a true feeling of how steep it was. I can tell you that it's impossible to climb up on foot without getting down and crawling...

@roydpg oh i think i have some kind of idea, just search "monza banking" and there are videos of people walking on them and trying to climb up to the top, some succeeded haha. but god would i love to go there!

Ti sbagli. Definitivamente 25 aprile 1969. A parte le macchine, basta vedere che si correva sulla pista sopraelevata, questa fu l'ultima volta, appunto 1969.

sono andato 2 settimane fa a monza a vedere la formula 3 e con un mio amico abbiamo fatto un (mezzo) giro a piedi dell'anello alta velocità...che brividi quel posto..

E' un filmato fantastico! C'ero anch'io a Monza quell'anno, ero solo un ragazzino con tanto dolore nel cuore per la scomparsa di Lorenzo Bandini. Certo che la bellezza delle corse sport prototipi anni 60-70 è ineguagliabile. Ma fa ridere vedere i piloti correre in quelle infami piste cittadine che oggi vanno tanto di moda! Ci mancava pure Roma. Invece di restaurare i gioielli come il banking di Monza si buttano i soldi in eventi senza senso.
