  • Very nice, how much was it?

  • @EToastE i think 50-60, check out his site Korisuya for more stuff

  • very nice job keep on rocking man

  • Nice cuts!

I am getting a new Katana soon, and a Tatami stand. Maybe I'll upload my cuts, but to be perfectly honest I'd probably just get comments like "Wow you suck xD".

Btw I took a quick glance at Dean's store and didn't see the Zori, does he still sell them(I noticed you mentioned you got them a while back).

korisuya(dot)com/footwear(dot)html scroll to the very bottom you can miss them. sword used in video was paul chen ppk. can be also found at korisuya.

  • @skymilesdc5 Right, I saw that in the description part of your video(the PPK).

k thanks! I'm gonna upload a vid really soon!

  • @TeHGoodReverend /watch?v=6TDk1rSczq8

    Link to video is there**

  • Again nice cuting.

    .

    General in Japan,

When somebody can't cut the stuff which rolled one or two pieces of tatami mat with have core of bamboo, it isn't recognized with a beginner of Kenjutsu or Iai.

It isn't evaluated at all even if people cuts a lot of plastic bottle.

Therefore people had better make test-cuting video in "formal method in Japanese Iai do"like this your video.

Technic doesn't improve when they don't use tatami-mat which have bamboo core.

  • Nice, Sky! Wow!

  • thanks, just need to do something new and harder to do

  • two rolls to make one target thats pertty thick plus your useing real goza mats not the soft easy to cut beach mats

  • @ninjaspot beach mats are like childs play besides Tatami Omote mats. unlike beach mats goza will bend your sword on bad cuts while beach mats are too soft to bend your blade so they'er great for beginners

  • @skymilesdc5

    Nice.

Users will think this is easy, but this is difficult skill. Because this is easy to make a mistake in Hasuji.

By the way In Japan generally, they wind up Tatamiomote.

However, they install a core of bamboo inside.

And some people don't fix Matt in stand.

Moreover, somepeople do Test-cuting with a sword "without blade"=Katana with Habiki 刃引きされた刀"

    ChosonNinja is completely incompetent, anyway.

When Even a Westerner people knowing fact watch him, they will laugh at his act.

  • @HouzanSuzuki true, it's very difficult when you're moving because you'l have very little time to preform Hasuji right with no mistake let alone draw the sword upsidedown from the saya and cut the target in one sweep.

i have to look for a place that sells bamboo because where i live bamboo is kinda hard to come by, i might find some thick ones in a feld if i look hard .

yeah, i saw how thin the target he was using...weak

  • @HouzanSuzuki BTW the tatami mats i use are very stiff and dont bend but will bend a blade at a 45 degree angle on bad cuts

  • @skymilesdc5

    I see. Thanks.

By the way, how is a feeling of Zori from Korisuya?

    (^_^)

  • @HouzanSuzuki the Zori had the feeling of sneakers so running in those felt great. and i loved the tatami used to make the top of the Zori. very nice.

  • @skymilesdc5

Four kinds of Japanese old footwear exists.

    雪駄(Settta) 草履(Zori) 草鞋(Waraji) 下駄(Geta) 地下足袋(Jikatabi)

    Leather-soled sandals

    Japanese sandals

    straw sandals wooden sandals

    Jika-tabi

I am using Setta every days.

When do martial arts, Zori are ideal.

  • @HouzanSuzuki i agree, zori seem to be better for martial arts. the one's im using in the video from scott's store was the best for running.

  • @skymilesdc5

All people can understand why ChosonNinja can't cut even one or two piece of rolled tatamimat

Even in a beginner or an inexperienced person can cut one piece.

But, basis is necessary in order to cut two pieces of (3.6mx0.9m) tatamimat.

Choson never have basis in all his playing.

    .

The person who can't cut five pieces of tatami mat from three pieces can't be instructor in Japan.

Of course, a core isn't a core for stand fixing a tatami mat.

A core exists in tatami mat in itself.

  • 2-

BTW, Students of Kenjutu cut bamboo of thickness of a human's wrist in Japan.

It don't have meaning in thin bamboo.

    .

And a sword bends or they can't completely cuts(blade will stop on the way) when a clumsy person cuts two rolled tatami mat.

I recommend to people understand why we use tatamimat which rolled and have core.

It is different from construction material having simple hard face(Wood or Iron).

Therefore Japanese people used it as tool of testcuting from very old days.

  • @HouzanSuzuki Sorry to bother you Houzan, but do you if a katana with 55 HRC can cut bamboo? I know it can cut Tatami but I am not sure if it can cut bamboo.

  • @TeHGoodReverend 55 HRC can with ease

  • @skymilesdc5 In that case I have nothing but good expectations for the musashi elite I am going to buy :). Can your Bamboo katana cut bamboo?

    - Rev

  • @TeHGoodReverend Well... you have to remember it depends on the person skill with Hasuji. because if you can't do Hasuji correctly your blade will bend or snap in two no matter how good your sword is.

i have cut yellow bamboo with that sword before, but again it's the person skill with Hasuji not the sword

  • @skymilesdc5 Well of course, my skill with a sword is more self taught but its nothing special. If you give an amateur like ChosonNinja a sword vs. A practioner of many years like you or Kenjutsumasters. As long as 55 HRC can cut bamboo I am happy, but I probably won't attempt such a feat.

  • @TeHGoodReverend i just cut a yellow bamboo with the bamboo sword so you can see what im talking about. the bamboo sword is a thin blade. video will be up soon

  • @skymilesdc5 yea, that is true. even if you have the best wepon if you dont have the skill it use it right its no good it all. i bent i lot of good swords even the musashi elite i bent on coke bottle. im that bad =(
