@lumberjackconnor when i was 12 i didn't give a shit I was fucking jammin' in all of the awe that they were to me at the time. im 24 and they are still fucking incredible.
@3yrdman fair enough but I just think understanding modest mouse makes it 10000 times better then just liking the melodies, as awesome as they are. Isaac is lyrical genius which makes his music better then most
amen brother. AND also - new listeners should be firmly encouraged to listen to early MM (obviously)
also triple j blows guys. they cant offer you anything new, just use the internet. Also, totally unrelated. TV on the Radio are awesome, and search for the Animal Collective, and Panda Bear on youtube. you wont be dissapointed i promiseeeeeeeeee
dude being twelve and liking modest mouse is very signififcant. it shows a maturity in respecting real artistry and not mainstream media at an early age. What crap were you listening to at 12 i didn't get into modest mouse and music with a real "voice" until i was like 15-16, and most people never do get into real music they'll take anything with a catchy tune.
cool man..but the truth is no one here cares how big of a modest mouse fan you are we obviously all like them if we are watching videos like this second, and if modest mouse is all you have on your ipod thats pretty sad(dont get me wrong mouse is my favorite band of all time) but you need to get over yourself
Man, i dont remember making half of my comments. I tend to over exaggerate things alot. I have other shit on my ipod but MM is my most played. Ive been listening to alot of Lync lately. Theyre a mix of MM and BTS with some distortion thrown in. Pretty awesome
Modest mouse is great, but they aren't the end all be all of artistic music. Art is found in the eye, or in this case the ear, of the beholder. You can find artistic qualities in anything ranging from Richard Wagner to Flipper.
Yes, but that is like saying art is everwhere. As many photographers will say, but art is a point of view found to be significant (not neccassarilly beautiful). Ultimatel you have differentiate between what is created for the purposes of art, and in mainstream media what is created for money. Modest Mouse are artists, but people like young jeezy are instruments, if you find art in such works then you are the artist.
seriously lay off him, i commend the kid, when i was twelve i was listening to crappy mainstream like nickelback. So bravo kid, getting into it while your young.
Modest Mouse is simply the best. They don't go for sounding like any other band out there, and they're very unique and underrated. People are put off by Issac's voice, but that's just another factor that sets them so far apart from other indy bands. And any fan will agree that the lyrics are geniously written and the music is highly diverse. Modest Mouse sounds much like you're flipping through all of the instrumental radio stations.
im from the same town as modest mouse and ive loved them for years. i remember when they really sucked. some of the their early show (1997-1998) were terrible. but fucking awsome. thanks for posting.
I fuckin' love Modest Mouse, but you all are a bunch of hipsters.

Do you want to get rapped by some weirdo on youtube or something, lol?

Probably also to explain why the hell he was listening to a JJJ hottest 100 CD.

But it was over 18s only. Typical.
