  • The plover is NOT endangered get your facts straight

  • @sdawson222 the Piping Plover has been listed as state endangered in the states of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, New York, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. Also In 1985 it was declared an endangered species by the Committee on the Status of Endangered Wildlife in Canada.

  • Why the hell is everyone complaining about loosing 1/100 of your beach? Are you joking? Humans use the beach for recreational purposes... we DON'T live on the beach, we don't raise or children on the beach... these animals do. Jeez, human society's dis-connect from nature is awful. And for those you say that nature takes out the weak (true) Next time you break your leg or get sick, you should just let yourself die. and FYI nature isn't causing their endangerment humans are!

  • Mother Nature has been trying to get rid of those plovers for many years. STOP MESSING WITH MOTHER NATURE.

    GIVE US BACK OUR BEACHES!!!!

    Screw the birds.

  • don't forget people, piping plover taste like chicken! yum!

  • It's not about birds. It's about your ability to manipulate the nps and other government agencies through the federal court system while simultaneously pissing away MILLIONS in taxpayer dollars to remove human access to our national recreation areas. The only non-partisan research offered up to the public thus far indicates that your policies have resulted in fewer chicks, more turtle false crawls and millions in economic losses to small business owners. So PLUCK YOU AUDUBON, DOW AND SELC!

  • The persons and groups in this video have had nothing to do with the NPS, lawsuits, or turtles. Again, this is from Nebraska, not North Carolina.

  • You are one in the same, your money is buying the lawers who are behind this, they get paid by you folks to take the beaches and whatever away from citizens, a place that is a National Seashore....... not a wildlife refuge.............yet. Birds right above humans, what a joke

  • "Rights of birds" that is a joke in itself.

Species evolve, adapt and survive, or they become extinct. Any thing.... bird or whatever that nests on a tidal flat does not have the instincts to survive.

  • so that it constricts aroud their leg. They hate that. The National Audoban Society ,The Defender's of Wildife fail to provide scientific data to back any of their claims. They sue government agency's to get their way with your money. They are nothing more than money machines with most of the money lining their corporate pockects. MAKE THESE PEOPLE BACK THEIR CLAIMS WITH REAL FUNDAMENTAL SCIENTIFIC DATA USING REAL SCIENCE AND NOT A SHOW OF HANDS. Truth is, they can't. That's why were mad. Deleted

  • Please note: You deleted my post. Please note: If their are Law suits all over this country to protect the same species it seems to me that they might not be as threatened as they claim. You know ,if they are everywhere that humans like to "recreate" and generally enjoy life without harming ANYTHING . Maybe just maybe , they enjoy our company. And maybe they don't like you because you chase them down, capture them, squeeze them so that you don't lose them, put a band on their leg, heat said band

  • Apparently this video has touched a raw nerve for some people, apparently mostly east coasters and/or anglers. Please note that this video was made in Nebraska and that the organization featured works proactively to resolve conflicts between people and endangered species (thereby respecting people's rights while protecting the birds).

  • Sportsmen have "respected the signs and respected the birds". Pushing you idiological way of thinging on people is too much.

Why can't you "respect peoples rights"?

    Get a life

  • Pathetic video!

  • It's just a way the wildlife groups are preying on the ignorant to raise money with their voodoo science. The Wildlife Service and NPS go along to fill their pockets through fines and penalties.Get a life lossers!!!!

  • BREAKING NEWS!!! There are plovers in the nags head area, around and on the roof of the K-mart...QQuick, shut it down so the precious birds can have it. Sorry mam or sir, no toilet paper or cheeto's for you...WE MUST PROTECT THE BIRDS...One of these days, maybe after you people have destroyed the tourism on the OBX and there is only you and the birds left, will it be enough then, or maybe you could move on to the next emergency, like earthworms or something..PISS OFF

  • WHEN IS ENOUGH>>>ENOUGH? Maybe we just move all the people onto boats and let the birds have all the land, because according to the Audobahn society, rats with wings are more important than people. Wonder what plover tastes like anyway???

  • @cbmbdb

Wow. There are 7,000,000,000 humans on Earth and roughly 6,000 Piping Plovers, and you say the birds are taking up too much space? The only reason humans go to the beach is for fun... these birds LIVE here, it's THEIR home, they should have more space! I bet you wouldn't like it if millions of birds were living in your home and putting your children in danger.

You're disrespect for Earth and it's beings is disgraceful.

  • thumbs down to you bird people

  • Yea bird people, be sure to remove comments that tel the truth behind your whimpering falicy of a cause. If they are so endangered, collect the nests and hatch in captivity and then release

"CLEAN UP ON ISLE COMMON SENSE"

  • This is a quack (excuse the pun) video. In real coastal life, one will find that these birds are in no way endangered or threatened. It is just an excuse to close off prime fishing locales.
