  • rock & roll baby i love it i've been listening to it since i was lik 15 now im 16 and i love it

  • For me this song is all about the summer of 82' when I was placed in a group home, yeah, I was a screwed up 8 year old;My room mate was 11 and his parents bought him everything under the sun including a ghetto and this tape. God, even being ripped from my family at age 8, I just loved all of this music and it made the time go by so fast! Hell of a memeory to have but almost 38 now, it still resonates with me from radio station selection, kids hate it lol, to what I watch on Y.T! Go 80's forever!

  • I remember a high school phys-ed class where we were allowed a turntable into the gym to play some songs while we shot free throws and did lay-ups at the basketball hoops. I swear, this song increased our shot success rate. :)

  • Ha! I remember roller skating to this song! Felt like I was on top of the world .=)

    SKATE KING!

  • Used to play this 45 at my college radio station. I liked it better than "Turn Me Loose".

  • top song forget the rest

  • Why are the like and dislike buttons disabled? Loverboy was under-rated b/c of the name of there band. No guy wants to admit he liked a band called, Loverboy when he is 13 -22 years old. You can see them play live for free on Freemont Street Experience in Las Vegas. Seen them twice. Mike Reno does not sound like he used to but the music is the same.

  • Yeah I guess it was summer 1981, now that I think about it. That was one of my favorite summers!

  • I remember this song coming out in 82. I could be wrong--may have been late 81. Either way--it's one of the great ones. I was 19 when it came out--good times!

  • This song kind of reminds me of The Cars. I love the chord progression in the chorus.

  • I'm going to see them tomorrow, waited a long time!! So freakin' excited!!!!! :D Rib America soldier's memorial downtown St.louis

  • A couple packed bowls, a couple beers, the high school dance, Visine before going home, pretty much sums up nearly every weekend for me in high school, 1982 grad. Rock on.

  • the 80s will always be the best life a girl good ever have had....the happiest years of my life and the world wasnt as crazy as what it is now....i will always love you

  • Saw them at Rama last weekend. Never a fan in the 80's, but going in a group made it fun. Never saw so many 44 year old women standing and dancing, reliving their teenage years. Mike Reno still in good voice, the band was rock solid.

  • Drove my parents crazy playing this song over and over and over...How do you like the way he rocks and the way he rolls....

  • Mike Reno rules!

  • Canada is awesome !

  • Best Canada Rock!

  • <3 love it

  • go canada! lolz

  • The ultimate second tier rockers! They were a solid band with a short and sweet run.

  • One of my favorites ever!! thanks

  • i born listened this music,, it´s so good

  • I'm from Canada, they formed in my hometown.

    =)

they kinda remind me a lot of foreigner.

  • He's still rockin!!!!

  • There might be some connections to this song and The cars as Ric is attributed by Wikipedia as starting a new wave in the late 70's. Both singers are only 5 years apart in age with Ric being older @ 60 Reno has aged much better than Ric who looks like he has been dead a couple hundred years while Mike put on a few #'s. I guess that is where they both will be tomarrow. Loverboy is still rocking & The Cars are no more.

  • wasn't this song a stab at ric ocasik from the cars?? I think I remember an urban legend about this??...anybody know??

  • This is the first I've ever heard of it. Remember, urban legends usually turn out to be urban legends.

  • maybe, but if you listen to yhe lyrics, it kind of fits. I'm gonna do some research...

  • The best Urban Legend is the one about the spiders in the Hair.

  • @JimmyConway60 why would they be stabing ric ocasik

  • fuck i wish i was around for 70's and 80's rock!

  • you missed out,but thank god for the internet, its all here, good luck and enjoy

  • these guy were awesome saw them in Kamloops a few yrs ago bring back memories of teen age yrs (:

  • Great tunes from the 80's.

  • Can u imagine gunning it to top speed down the freeway to this song.

  • great song for all of us 40 somethings!!!!!!!!!!!! mike reno was a total babe.

  • "Was"? He's still alive ya know and still doing concerts. :)

  • Yeah but he won't be fitting into those red leather pants anytime soon :)

  • I have a suspicion that wont affect his singing ability at all. :)

  • First time, I heard this was back in 82, memories of my freshman year in 82-83. Great song to be roaring down the highway to.

  • I wish i got to see what the 80s were like rather than bein an infant for it...

  • they were pretty cool, Aids was largely restricted to Africa and the gay population, no PC's and cell phones to keep us indoors too much. Not as many sexual predators. Good times.

I went through a Loverboy period then, but honestly, there were sooooo many more interesting bands in the 80's like the Cocteau Twins, Echo and the Bunnymen, and the Psychedelic Furs.

  • Still play my Loverboy cassette tape in my '78 Firebird Skybird still cruising the strip... THE GOOD OL' DAYS LIVE ON!!

  • @madamfootball yep my '67' camaro for me!! wasnt that too cool!!

  • @madamfootball Yeah... back in those days when songs were 3&1/2 to 7 minutes long. Heaven forbid the noise today be anywhere near 3 minutes. LOL.

  • I saw these guys back in August and they played this song.

  • this was austin idol's song he came to the ring with. he was a wrestler in the south, alabama, florida mainly.

  • friday night cruising tune.makes me want to take the old six pak superbee out for a spin down gastown/robson/stanley park cruise.time for a beer eh ..thanks for sharing.

  • you do that now a dui is almost guarenteed. not condoning drinking and drivin but back in the 70's and 80's thats what you did. in mobile al where i grew up we'd cruise from burger king to mcdonalds 3miles down the road, up and down that road, good music, beer and some buddies, and the cops were far less in number and drinking and cruising were tolerated more than today, great times!!!!

  • ALWAYS REMEMBER MY DEAD FRIEND, who DIED FROM SUICIDE.....K. MISSSSSS YA !!!!

  • Elfe57 - That is very sad. Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. Sigh....

  • Man you're so right, couldn't have put it better myself.

  • this song i listen ALWAYS when i take my Plymouth Fury III for a ride trough town.

  • My God, the last time I heard this song I was high as F@#!

  • What a song! The only words that can describe it is to say that no words can describe it.

  • how do you like his style..how do you like he looks and smiles:) Love all their songs :)

  • great tune...it's been awhile...turn it up now...

  • 45's....so cool....great tune...

  • so 80's!!!!!

Thanks for posting, I love this song.

  • I did not realize that Loverboy also dealt with rejection. They sure did have a good kick at the can in their heyday. Lucky you having another promotional gem in your collection...(how do you keep track of them all anyways).

Great pictures that sure do tell a story....

    Thumbs up again!

  • These guys got to experience the whole enchilada. It must have been a great thrill while it was happening. They're all still performing, except for Scott Smith, who was declared deceased after being lost at sea, on November 30, 2000. His place has been taken by Ken Sinnaeve. Ken had played in Streetheart with Paul Dean and Matt Frenette.

How do I keep track? Database. Large, perpetually unfinished database.

    Thanks!

  • mojo - my God, I didn't know Smith was OPD! Wow, quite a shock to learn that.

  • opd?

  • maiden-

    Stands for 'Officially Pronounced Dead.'

  • Easy kill...smokin song!!
