Refering to KillBill I consider this to be one of the best scenes Quintin has done period. Its a very somber experiance as The Bride approches these master crafted katanas. She knows these swords represent a life dedicated to the art and mastery of forgeing the prefecting of the katana and that is what make a Hanzo sword. It wasnt just forged by some guy, but by a man who was dedicated, poured his soul and his prefection into the sword, This scene is a showing of true character.
Does Salyu has more songs like this? I've heard some of hers, and they're ok (for me) but this one's fantastic! When I heard it in kill bill years ago, I, immediately knew I had to know the name of this song. And years after, here I'am, listening to it :)
I highly recommend All About Lily Chou Chou". "Glide" is my favourite song, but this one is good too. It is an emotional ride and a thrilling drama, very well done, with of course, this great soundtrack!
I OWn the 2 CDs and also if you look in Vuze or other p2p for Download you have Kill Bill OST With UNRELEASED songs..and this is there..like others..Good Luck
@careing57587 No one can ruin what you won't let be ruined. Saying the Lords name in vain is something to not do, and although that's sad and someone like myself doesn't like that either, I'm not going around correcting every warm body and shoving it in their face. It's the love of God that brings all men to repentance, not his wrath.
@Expl0rati0n Seriously, I've been trying to find this song ever since the movie came out. Found out about the title through Wikipedia just now and came here to listen to it. Lovely song and should've been included on the soundtrack.

Oh come on mother fucker. I'm speaking real. I have made some fucked up choices in my life. And I realize that when I die, I'm going to deal with them. Literally. When we die, every bad choice we make is going to hit us, smack in the fucking heart. That's the inevitable part of life, and it's also the beauty of life. End of fucking story.

Hey, brother, it doesn't have to hit you. You can be blessed with eternal life by our Saviour Jesus Christ, the only One who can give such a gift.
For while we are undeserving of God's grace, He gives it to us, freely, and unconditionaly through His Son who died on the cross to save ALL sinners. You and me are included on that list.
Place your faith in the Lord, and your sins are forgiven, live for Him, and not your flesh. Resist temptation in the holy name of Jesus Christ, the risen God.

This song reminds me of the fact that we must live with the choices we make, and sometimes facing those choices is like marvelling at the idea that we can sinky to such low lows in our life, yet still strive to acheive a higher high than we wanted before.
Never again will I stick a needle in my arm. I swear that on my dog's grave.

To answer your question. I think Quentin couldn't put it on the Kill Bill soundtrack cause around that time is was already on another soundtrack which was "All About Lily Chou-Chou" which may have had copyrighted issues to be on another soundtrack.
This song first appeared in "All About Lily Chou-Chou" first. Quentin Tarantino saw that film and decided to put in Kill Bill to pay hommage to it cause he loved All About Lily Chou-Chou. It is a brilliant film as the students share memories and play kendo when this song is playing. Its good too when The Bride gazes at the samurai swords too. It s a good song!
Out of my horrible memory I believe that it's "The Lonely Shepherd" by Zamfir... but I could be wrong (I just know that it's at the end of the movie and carries on into the credits)
I know as soon as i heard it in he movie i fell in love with it and it took me forever to find this song on here, so if something like that were to happen i will so cut someone
Well in defense of the soundtrack, I feel like putting those quotes and kung fu sfx are what make the soundtrack quirky and artful, and essentially "quentin tarantino". Also, not including this song makes it more sacred. Because it's harder to find, the search is thrilling and makes the song more special when you find it!
tarantino puts quotes in all of his soundtracks, so that's why those are there. Maybe they couldn't put the song in for certain reasons, or maybe he left it out so people buy the movie too? :|
Tarantino lifted the song from a very recent Japanese movie called "All About Lily Chou Chou." In that movie, the song has an even more prominent role. I wonder if that played a role in the song not making the cut for the soundtrack.

How on earth did I not notice a track from the Lily Chou Chou soundtrack on Kill Bill?
Anyways, quite the haunting song. For those looking for where to get it, it's on the Lily Chou Chou album "Kokyuu". Lily Chou Chou may be a fictional singer, but has a real album. Salyu's performance as Lily (never shown in the movie, but heard a lot) was powerful enough to launch her real-life singing career.
Check out "Ai no Jikken" for another good track from Lily Chou Chou.
I was pretty high when I first saw Kill BIll in the movie theater 5 years ago, and during this scene I just remember spacing out and listening to this beautiful song. ok, not your movie, the actual movie All About Lily Chou Chou... it's a real movie production, not a song in the background of an image. It was created by Salyu for that movie, and then used again in Kill Bill. Also, noob, is not a real word so spelling can be altered. So, I win, thanks.
