Before the waters had risen nearly this high the driver had thought he could get through. Unfortunately he dropped two wheels off the pavement onto the saturated shoulder and the wheels just sank in. He decided to stay with his car, but when the waters continued to rise he finally got out and got to safety. I don't think he realized how bad the situation really was. This was shot at about 10:00 AM, Wednesday, August 6, 2008.
Wow. I only came down to town after the water had dropped about 10 feet below where it is in this video.
