  • Bet they have just as broad a working range as a 627, should be fine in rock and such, that farm tractor should also survive as i am sure it is working to design.

To me this setup is a token gesture, sure it has caught on and maybe i am a dinosaur but it does not seem proper earthmoving to me.

  • got to get me one of these to use at the house.... ;-)

  • cool

  • what is wrong with using the metric system? what the hell are you using a foot for? someone's foot as a standard!!! LOL

  • I've never ran dual pans before, can you see the second pan from the cab, or do you have to feel it out. I've always wondered how these guys do it.

  • @vapor300. I'll bet there alot cheaper to buy than 627's.

What they need to do,is get a pair of Series IV Steiger Tiger 525's! Now thats a hell of a pulling machine!!!!

  • What is your number there I could do with a well to do operator

  • vapor300 is right!!! but you have to hire two ''real'' operators to do that....not a tractor ''driver''....im sure ill get hate mail on this..haha

  • At the time this Monster Machine episode was created, the 24 yard was the worlds largest scraper. Today, there are larger scrapers from Miskin and others.

  • 46 miles an hour, most be from Texas.

  • four to six miles an hour...snyllermand

  • is Osom!!! wery nice

  • The Miskin 24 yard has a long tongue and carries most of its weight on its own rear tires. The tongue weight is the same as a Reynolds 14 yard scraper, so it is easy on the tractor. Also because it is wider, it does not have to stack the dirt as high, so it loads faster and does not keep the tractor in the hard pull as long. Watch our youtube movie "Miskin Construction Scraper 2of5" for more details about the easy loading feature.

  • ...ok but when a Miskin 24 yard scraper hauls a million yards more over the lifespan of the tractor than a competitors 16 yard, does it effect the tractor differential and planetary life ?

Your scrapers must also require 2/3 of the traction of a competitor, to make that statement true !!

  • Its bigger, but easier to load, so about the same as far as the tractor is concerned.

  • I thought the width of cut determines the required traction for a scraper. But i guess the height of soil heaping needs lots of traction too...

  • Width of cut and DEPTH of cut determine required traction. So with a wider cut you don't need to cut as deep and stack the dirt so high.

  • are those the same tyres from the batmobile

  • Listen to the jd beller
