The general rule with copyrighting as I know is that you own the right as soon you compose the piece, regardless you register it or not, beside there is tons of evidence to show that Nameless wrote it and had it released.

I think Nameless however agreed to have them recognise him only as the writer, Nameless is a very noble artist, he did not want to make them broke I guess.
