hey lee, I'm 14 and 154Lbs and 6'ft tall. I use ur videos for my workouts and im hoping that i can reach at least 185Lbs in a few months. hope these work!
Is there a Issue with just making it part of your arm routine. I kind of do something different. I don't know if I made it up or picked it up some where... I will do 3 sets of 10 -12 with my normal precher weight then on my 4th set i drop weight to 50lbs do ten reps then 40lbs do ten reps then 30lbs do ten reps then so on till 10lbs... Its a lil different but, seriously on the way home I have trouble steering(totaly burt out biceps)
Hey Lee just wanted to let you know that I've been incorporating your workouts into a really high intensity circuit based training session. I must say man my chest and arms have been really bulking up since I started watching your videos. Keep it up man! You're an inspiration!
just to put it out there. I wrestle and alot of new guys tend to get tendinitis because they go all biceps and no triceps, so be sure to keep a good balance between the two.
@Priskazka depends totally of the mechanics of your bone structure. Those with shorter limbs hardly need any isolation exercises for their limbs. Those with longer and less proportional limbs need alot of isolation exercise, once you have built up a strong core from compounds.
@Priskazka This is somewhat true. Because the biceps & triceps are involved in many compound exercises, e.g. chest incline & shoulder press involves the triceps. You should be aiming to work them once a week & only do 4 SETS not, 4 exercises. E.g. do 2 exercises each containing 2 sets. Any more than this can cause damage to the muscle and delay growth. Hope this helps.
Im training for MMA and im fighting either lightweight of welterweight and im trying a lifting schedule aimed more for muscular endurance and toning... im doing 5 sets right now with 12-15 reps will this give me some muscular endurance and toning, im not trying to get mass and get all bulky and huge im trying to get REAL cut and toned and have alot of muscular endurance i was told doing bench press a 100 reps will get endurance and toning but what are some other muscular endurance ideas
Lee, I have been training my biceps and back together on the same day for awhile now. Is it okay to do the biceps and back on their own seperate days, for instance, bi's on Monday and back on Thursday? I figure since many back excersizes work the bi's, having a few days between might be good. Thanks
Lee your the shit man the thing i love about you is you always share your secrets even tho you have programs for lifting weight like "blast your biceps"and "blast your bench" etc... i mean everyone has to make a income but your all for the people KEEP IT UP!!!
@JakeyDee I agree there. lighter and slower you feel a different type of burn than blasting through heavier. It's also more beneficial to get through more of the sets by your self before the spotter has to step in..
you could, but I find that as fatigue sets in you'll end up lowering the weight to almost nothing. You'd be better off rest pausing the sets then lowering the weight too much. To rest pause simply stop when you reach failure. Rest 10-15 seconds and then continue on.
Perfect, thanks. This is why I subscribed, you have great advice.
One more thing, on another vid of yours, you mentioned that you use gatorade powder and whey protein in a post workout shake, what do you mix that with, water, milk, etc.? or do you just put a scoop of each in your mouth and swallow it dry, wait, that would be gross.
P.S. Your poses are looking sweet, even if they are in a bathroom. LOL
Theres absolutely no need to do 100 reps of bicep curl after your bicep workout.. A pump doesnt mean growth, heavy weights=Muscle growth, not pumpin 100-200 freaking reps.. 10-12 sets of heavy fuking weights is all you need for.. You still can try it for a pump but it wont increase size cause the weight is way too light..
@HeavilyArmoR3D correct me if i am wrong but the best way to train is using heavy weight sets with light weight high rep sets alongside. best way for building mass fast is high weight low reps and the light weight sets wear out your muslces at the end of a workout to stimulate more growth
are you saying that if i plateau with any muscle group( bi's tri's chest...etc) i should perform a 100 rep routine ?
if thats the case, i should start doing that. it will probably add an extra 10-20lbs prior to what i was doing before (bench - curls etc ) when i complete this 2-3 weeks 100 rep routine
hey ive been working out for about a year but i dont underastand what you guy smean by pump. Basically i usually do heavy weights but i never feel ANY PUMP even though i do around 8 - 10 reps , but with like light weights or normal weights i feel reallyu pumped. So which is better, doing heavier weights or doing light weights to get really big
Actually a combination of both would really torch it! Worked for me. Ex- Chest: 3 Heavy Sets of Flat DB Press- 3 Mod/Heavy Sets of Incline Flyes, 2 set of Cable Crossover then grab a light set of DB's on an incline bench and knock out 4 sets of ten with only 30 secs of rest b/w sets- Power and Density one workout!
I must disagree Anjohl. Like pkhamidar2com, I often don't get much "pump" from heavy weights, but a low weight high rep finisher does get a nice "pump". Now I won't pretend to know the biology of what's happening but the muscles I have just destroyed are bigger and feel "pumped". Only idiots would believe this is muscle growth, it's obviously the bodys reaction to the abuse you have just put it through. Either way I find it a nice encouragement to work out hard cause i look bigger for a while :)
@pjharro The reason you feel a "pump" is because of the stress put on those muscle groups increased the blood flow. That's what gives you the bulging muscle look.
You're on the right track here, but a pump is actually caused by Microtrauma from tiny tears within the muscle fibers. Blood then rushes into the muscle to temporarily fill the small tears. Once a "pump" is reached, unless you train the muscle with a heavy weight to failure you will NEVER grow as speadily as the muscle can. It is NOT a fictional term as described by Anjohl, however he is correct in the response that a pump DOES NOT neccesitate muscle growth alone.
and ideal workout for any muscle includes a pre-fatigue (light weights high reps) followed by an isolation movement (high weight low rep) and then again followed by a huge pump as described in the video, called a tempo-contraction. EACH AND EVERY TIME you train a muscle you should finish with a blowout routine like this; not just to break through a plateau.
Pkhamidar2com have u ever tryed pramid training?? basically its where u do 5 sets, 1 warm up and u start on ur heavy weight 1 set (5-8 reps) then u keep dropping the weight. that helps muscle develop quickly.
I love that work out... I usually do it 10x10 w/ 30secs rest! Insane pump. It can also be done on any body part! I can attest that you really do push through growth plateaus with this method, but after 4 weeks the results will reverse! Lee are you only including once on the 2 per week workouts?
i realized that you are not sitting on the seat while you are doing your reps. is it more effective by not sitting on the seat? i do mine completely sitting down on the preacher machine
actually your wrong the more micro tears in the muscles cause your biceps to repair and they get alot bigger than regular medium difficulty workout....u should know what ur talking about before u think you u know everything...
Yes I know how muscles grow but you also need to know that Bicep is a small muscle & other exercises stimulate the Bicep Brachii etc etc so taking into account how many reps of them your are doing add that to the 100 aimless curls= overtraining, get educated for your own sake. Light training doesn't beat medium heavy you MUPPET!!
Your so wrong!!!! please tell me what educational qualifications you have to back up your statements because you are so wron, i'm just trying to help you.
you will know if you are over training. u will feel fatigue, lack of motivation. just absolute crap.
if you see this as overtraining, you are clearly not working hard enough. think about it. what lee is simply doing is endurance training. those who wish to train slow twitch do 20 reps as a normal set.
ohh im working very hard,, its just his bis r u bit on the smaller side, but thats his genes i guess,,,,anyway im more of the explosive, quick lifter, getting the most strength out of my size gains.
Lee says just before the conclusion of the video that he limits this particularly intense arm routine to three-four-weeks, and as a way to pass growth plateaus.
dont do this, this will get you a pump...not increase in size. do heavy weight.
