  • 1 word: IMINLOVEWITHPATRICKFIORI <3

  • So beautiful!

  • jaime tellement cette chansons!

  • It's a Quebec production, created there but showed in France. The author (and lyrics) of the musical is a french canadian, same for 4 of the 7 main actors. The music composer is half french, half italian. 2 of the main actors are french and 1 is half french half armenian. And it all began with the french novel of Victor Hugo. So there are little parts of Armenia, Italia, France and Canada in this. Hope everyone is happy now^^.

  • Phoebus, she's 14! What are you doing man?

  • @fetchingbaton47 Is she really 14 ? o.O

  • it's just epic

  • @drakkar33 It's a french production but,

    Hélène Ségara : Esmeralda French

    Garou : Quasimodo Canadian

    Daniel Lavoie : Frollo Canadian

    Bruno Pelletier : Gringoire Canadian

    Patrick Fiori : Phoebus French

    Luck Mervil : Clopin Canadian-ish

    Julie Zenatti : Fleur-de-Lys French

  • It's so sweet that they're married in real life too.

  • @Boutiqueeny they are not married..... they were engaged but they broke up 5 years ago :(

  • i understand phoebus going for esmeralda

  • It's not the French version....well yes in a way but it's the quebecor version

  • @drakkar33 You are wrong! It's the french version. I'm french and I'm confirming you that it's french version. :)

  • @drakkar33 It is the french version , although some of the singers are from quebec like Garou but this is french and not quebecor

  • @drakkar33 It completely franch just Garou and Daniel lavoie's mother are quebecor ! Helene Segara is french, Patrick fiori also, just his father is armenian. This show comes from victor hugo's book but there are few others versions like italien one or canadian one ...

  • @drakkar33 3 of the singers are French

  • Is that Fleur-de-lys?

"My fourteen summers are for you." Does that mean that's she's 14? Wow, thats young. In the book she was 22.

  • @MiaCharlie101 well, traditionally 22 would be an old maid...

  • I love how pheobus is singing about one day marrying Fleur de Lyse, yet he has a ring on his wedding finger.

  • I love how at the very end, Gringoire makes the mime for love!! SO cute!

  • I love how Bruno comes out and he's all all like: Glitter time!

  • Fantastique! Sublime! Extraordinaire! The french version is the best, because it's the original! And the original s always better than the copies. My second favorite is the the russian version, the the italian. And the english one sucks :(

  • 26 personnes cherchent l'amour encore

  • I HATE FLEUR DE LYS!!! And stupid Phoebus, hes a total douchey manwhore in the book and every adaptation except tge Disney one(I think hes sweet in that one). But Fleurs just annoying. She blames Esmeralda for Phoebus' manwhore-iness...and shes jealous Esmes hotter than her :D

  • @libertybombshell She doesn't blame Esmeralda. At least, not completely. She realizes that Phoebus is a total dick but still loves him. It's just a matter of her bad taste. In La Monture and Je Reviens Vers Toi she doesn't actually believe that he was bewitched yet she is still willing to overlook his past indiscressions. She's just a young fourteen year old in love, so she's too young to realize he'll just do it again but old enough to understand it. But yeah, Phoebus is a douche either way.

  • @KaiKanashii It still doesn't justify her vindictive behavior. She tells Phoebus she will only be with him if he makes sure Esme is hanged. I don't care how hurt/in love/ young you are, that's just unacceptable.

  • @libertybombshell in an era where public hangings were common and where misogyny was common it could be argued that it was probably the normal way to react XD

  • I love the french ver.

the language is very romantic so it is perfect for this musical

  • @tuenha it's funny because I speak French..and for me, the Italian version sounds more romantic lol

  • Julie zenatti... Me marie si-vous-plait

    Ho hooo haha

  • J'adore cette chanson. Elle reflète mon amour pour ma bien-aimé. Ahhh...

  • Who is the girl?:$ I know it's not Esmeralda, but who is it then:$

  • @channiej1993 She's Fleur-de-Lys, a girl Phoebus is going to marry.

  • @chocobasse10 Oh ok, thanks:) I know the Disney movie is different from the real story, and I read the story, but French isn't always that easy:P

  • superba melodia asta...ma lasa fara aer....

  • @adrianarebe87 Sunt de aceeasi parere :X

  • I could die at Fiori's look! :(

  • They look related.

  • I have a comment for translation: "printemps" means "springs" not "Summers" :)

  • Man, I wish I had Gringoire in my life to show up and throw sparkles from time to time! :)

  • @silhuetto

I know how you feel... I know how you feel...

  • Gringoire is like a fairy here :). I just love them all :)

  • Oh, Gringoire, you and your randomness! <3

  • I HATE PHOEBUS!!!!!

  • In the book Fleur-de-Lys is about 22... (I'm sure: Hugo says that when Quasimodo was four, she was about six...) why in the opera she is 14? But it doesn't metter...Julie is wonderful!

  • He is damn fine. Ah, singing men.

  • printemps means spring not summmer :)

  • dans le livre elle a bien 14 ans :)

  • !!!!!!!!!!!BRAVO!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 23 miss the button dislike;]

  • I love Gringoire at the end - he's like, "Okay, your song's over, my turn. Oh, you weren't done yet? Here, have some random white stuff *POOF*!"

What the heck is that stuff anyway? Dandruff?

  • @ihartrodatkins I think it's supposed to be the traditional rice/confetti that people throw at weddings. But yes, I just love how he's randomly there. Gotta love him!

  • @ihartrodatkins i was singing along quite happily when i suddenly read your comment and couldn't stop laughing ever since...

    dandruff! ahahahahahaha!!!

  • @ihartrodatkins Not dandruff, but rice. It is an old Roman or Egyption tradition that wishes fertility and abundance to a newly wedded couple.

  • @delidumruliye actually, I kind of knew that... I was just trying to make a funny :)

  • @ihartrodatkins ROFL you just made my afternoon. it is like 'poof' and then he turns and BAM my song is up. I have a feeling Gringoire is like the comedy/entertainment of the show.

  • Why is Fleur-de-Lys' dress have darker areas of pink? Is a decorative style? Quelqu'un sait?

  • Fleur de lys ? leans tooo much -.-

It's like she has a lump

  • Bongoir

  • When Phoebus sings 'celui qui t'aimera, sera un homme heureux' his face says: haha, losers, too late, that would be me.

  • @Sunsisopho I totally agree...I had been looking for the right words to express what his face says.

  • Wonderful!

  • People married younger in the older days... and although 'printemps' mean spring, it is actually a metaphor for her age (in years), which in English "14 'summers'" is a better translation.

  • This song is so sweet...even if the scumbag is singing it lol. I love his voice but I hate his character.

  • "All the gold that still lies deep, beneath the earth in veins asleep"

    I LOVE THIS LINE EARGASM

  • Fleur-de-lys as quatorze ans?!

  • @sparkleNoats EXACTLY was I was going to ask...

  • i just love this song!!! but if my friends will find out that i even listen to this kind of music they will definetely execute me :)))

  • @usfootman No wonder. The music and performance are so good)) I also enjoy it greatly. It just stays with you. So beautiful. Natural. Sensationally.

  • is that Fleur de Lyse? shes pretty

  • Fleur de Lys has such a lovely voice!

  • I love this song! Man, Pheobus is such an man whore! After all of these promises, he goes off to a brothel with Esmeralda. And one more thing, PIERRE GRINGOIRE!!!!!!!!!!!! He is made of PURE AND UNADULTERATED AWSOME!!!!! CONFETTI XD

  • trop jolie! :)

  • shes lucky

  • isn't primtemps spring? not summer

  • @werter1887 Yes, you are right.

  • @werter1887 yes, but age are generally counted by summers in English cultures and springs in French. either way, it amounts to the same thing: she's 14.

  • oemgee!! this play is soo damn good! :) and its better than the italian one

  • @AllyLovesLizzieG

I agree even if I am Italian. The French vrsion is much more beautiful

  • @MrsJune64 Ho visto la versione italiana a Verona - era uno spettacolo meraviglioso, mi piace anche quella

  • J'ado0re <3

  • Her voice is so beautiful so is his of course. I still cant believe what a jerk he is though (Phoebus) i guess Disney had no choice but to change it up so as not to scare kids but they gave them such a false impression.

  • she has such a beautiful voice like a bird

  • cute Bruno!!

  • superb!

  • one of my favorite songs of the play.

  • When you text a song it is NEVER nessecery to translate it as a song text. As long as you get the point of the song.

  • @michaellisso These subtitles were not made by any YouTube user; they are the "official" ones on the DVD.

And as SonatinaGirl said, a completely direct translation isn't necessarily called for.

  • This girl is only 16 years old!!!

  • actually 14 in the story

  • @Phoenix554819 in the musical she is fourteen, but in the book she is actually in her early twenties

  • Actually, in the book she was 14.

  • @EmilyGreene1984 here she's 14, in the book she is 20-22 :)

  • Do they actually marry here? Cause that's the one thing I'm still not sure of. Or don't you see the moment they're getting married?

  • @simpje24 No they are engaged they marry at the end of the story

  • Comment removed

  • The girl is an a arrow for Russian heart!

  • Her name is Julie Zenatti, on this video she was 18 years old

  • Julie was 16 years old

  • She got the role "fleur-de-lys" when she was 16.

But the show started when she was 17 and this was recorded in january 1999, 16th and 17th so she was not 16 either 18 but 17.

It was 3 weeks before her 18th birthday.

  • wait... was quatorze printemps translated as 14 summers instead of 14 springs? well, yeah... i guess with the way it sounds in english and all that...

  • @TehCybernerd

I think it's an expression, in the Netherlands we have expressions which are very different in English, but still are the same. In Dutch however, 14 'summers' is exactly the same (when you translate it into Dutch), so the French version of this expression is 14 printemps, instead of 14 étés

  • Cool! love it. Can anyone pls put the lyrics? thanks so much

  • che teneroniiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii madooooooo :)

  • bonito

    beatiful

  • You know, Phoebus was a pig in the book, this just amplifies it.

  • I really love the rose-window light, I can't explain why but it seems right for this song (which is one of my favourites, especially in French)

  • look up this amazing short movie: Paris je t'aimerai

  • What sort of people are you all to commnet about age? Is this clip not simply to enjoy the beauty of Notre Dame de Paris'play ? Get a life, will you.

    Jean-Francois

  • sometimes its important to understand details to really understand the play..

  • @hafnarfjordur10

You're right. I don't understand any French word, but understand the music and skill of singers.

  • @hafnarfjordur10 I agree, an artist remains an artist, and the age haven't got any importance in this. They should simply enjoy this masterpiece instead of asking silly questions without any importance.

  • but she didnt marry him at 14 she was 22... but she met him and started knowing way before that

  • in that time it was normal to marry at that age... she was promised to him from her sweet childhood....

  • oke so the girl is in the story 14?

  • Yes. Fleur, I think her name is, I may have spelled it wrong. Why do you ask?

  • well i just thought wtf? that she is going to marry on her 14th

  • Remember, this takes place a /long/ time ago. Fourteen may actually be a little old to be married back then. Even in today's world it's legal to be married at sixteen in America, which is only a couple years older.

  • you're right i guess.

  • She is Fleur de lys!!!

  • did i asked her name?

  • i wasn't talk to you Isakahond!!

  • well i did got this e-mail:
