It's a Quebec production, created there but showed in France. The author (and lyrics) of the musical is a french canadian, same for 4 of the 7 main actors. The music composer is half french, half italian. 2 of the main actors are french and 1 is half french half armenian. And it all began with the french novel of Victor Hugo. So there are little parts of Armenia, Italia, France and Canada in this. Hope everyone is happy now^^.

I HATE FLEUR DE LYS!!! And stupid Phoebus, hes a total douchey manwhore in the book and every adaptation except tge Disney one(I think hes sweet in that one). But Fleurs just annoying. She blames Esmeralda for Phoebus' manwhore-iness...and shes jealous Esmes hotter than her :D
@libertybombshell She doesn't blame Esmeralda. At least, not completely. She realizes that Phoebus is a total dick but still loves him. It's just a matter of her bad taste. In La Monture and Je Reviens Vers Toi she doesn't actually believe that he was bewitched yet she is still willing to overlook his past indiscressions. She's just a young fourteen year old in love, so she's too young to realize he'll just do it again but old enough to understand it. But yeah, Phoebus is a douche either way.
@KaiKanashii It still doesn't justify her vindictive behavior. She tells Phoebus she will only be with him if he makes sure Esme is hanged. I don't care how hurt/in love/ young you are, that's just unacceptable.
@libertybombshell in an era where public hangings were common and where misogyny was common it could be argued that it was probably the normal way to react XD
In the book Fleur-de-Lys is about 22... (I'm sure: Hugo says that when Quasimodo was four, she was about six...) why in the opera she is 14? But it doesn't metter...Julie is wonderful!

@werter1887 yes, but age are generally counted by summers in English cultures and springs in French. either way, it amounts to the same thing: she's 14.

Remember, this takes place a /long/ time ago. Fourteen may actually be a little old to be married back then. Even in today's world it's legal to be married at sixteen in America, which is only a couple years older.

Remember, this takes place a /long/ time ago. Fourteen may actually be a little old to be married back then. Even in today's world it's legal to be married at sixteen in America, which is only a couple years older.
