  • After ACTA you don't need that sh*t anymore.

  • So if your internet just so happens to not work anymore....

  • Comment removed

  • the chromebook may sound good but it wont work (for now atleast) because it uses 3g connection which is slow maby in cuple of years time it will be better

  • So the average chrome book user would like to throw it in a river?

  • chrome book another scheme for advertisment! Anything 'new' from google is just to gain more revenue

  • *watches without sound*

"No it's not. .. Not really ... It actually IS the web."

    ...da fuck?

  • "I wonder if people are ready for this..."

"Yep, Lets throw it in a river!"

  • what happens if someone hacks google? Dont think your so smart now.

  • Does it mean if i want to play games, i must be playing @ miniclip? No more steam?

  • Do you have to pay for the Wifi/3G/other HSDPA connections? Or is it like the Kindle 3G where its free?

  • It's great until you go on a train, plane, in a car, on a unicycle... anywhere where there isn't a reliable WiFi/HSDPA connection.

  • Releasing that there's not internet in your car

  • @LyricsEpic or boat.

  • @IanS1994 or train, that whole 5 second's is just as big of a lie as the cake.

  • i'll pay extra, and get a proper laptop = macbook pro

  • BUTT I WANT MIRCOSOFT OFFICE foreeveerrrr:3

  • @poopoo4469 better wan't for a better free/cheaper and os independant alternative and avoid having to only use windows. A regular home user doesn't really need bloated windows 7/8 and would be far more safer when using an os like chrome OS or some user friendly linux distro. And even when something really gets wrong, it's far more simpler to re-install those OS'es now, because they are now developed to be as simple and user friendly as possible.

  • @poopoo4469 they will probably make an app for chrome like office365. Also, google docs is almost as good as it.

  • I feel like I was watching a Doctor Who episode. Getting more and more confused and fustrated as the thing went on.

  • i think ill just throw it in the river

  • this is the question everyone wants answering.... Can it cook your dinner?

  • Crap!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I don't like change!

  • OK, so what did they make this advert on? Oh yeah. A computer with a piece of video editing software. You can't do everything on the web just yet, Google.

  • @GoldenBlockGaming Not everything, but this is meant to be an OS that lets you get on the internet as quickly as possible for your social networking, working in general and everything you need. And it does what it needs to do!

  • @conorlovesfaces Yeah, I know. I was just pointing out their mistake at 0:30 which says that "You can do everything on the web". I'm not denying it's purpose :)

  • "It's kind of a new thought" My Input: It's a kind of... piece of shit. I'd rather open Firefox or Internet explorer for absolutely free than pay 300 to surf chrome on a laptop looking thing.

  • @Gx6Modern It's google's netbook. NET. INTERNET. You could turn your computer on, wait for it to load up, then open the browser... and search your page. All taking at least 2 minutes to load, or you can open the Chromebook up, press a button and be on the internet in literally seconds.

  • brill advert

  • so um.. what's the point of having chromebook when you dont have an internet access ?

  • I would throw a chromebook into a river. :P

  • @JayfuzOMarley gay statement. Stop basing your conversational skills off of Skyrim. There's more to life than that retarded game kid.

  • @chronofusion Its not a conversation though is it. Its pointless drabblle on the Internet.

  • @JayfuzOMarley In Soviet Russia, it takes a knee to the arrow.

  • @JayfuzOMarley This is a good example of an "arrow to the knee" joke.

  • useless without an internet connection.........

  • @ashtreylil1 yes it would be useless without an internet connection. However, who the fuck would be STUPID enough to buy a computer present day WITHOUT having internet ...SOMEWHERE they could connect to? pc's and internet are kinda like peanut butter & jelly, tires on a car, you get the idea.

  • @chronofusion you can do documents and look at movies and a calendar and everything without an internet on a regular laptop.....the whole "it's in the cloud" thing wont work.....it's a good idea, but takes away most of the functionality of a typical computer....

  • @ashtreylil1 how does it " take away most of the functionality? Many people don't want to be bothered with ( well i dont have enough space for this) or they just want to get on fast, check email, check facebook, youtube searches and videos, and considering it's concept it's PURPOSE. It STILL serves the most common needs of the general population. Not everyone games or video edits professionally ( I have a custom built phenom II x6 mushkin 240gig callisto deluxe pc machine for those things. )

  • @ashtreylil1 and yeah.you're right..YOU CAN do docs, watch movies and calendar etc w/out internet. but you CAN'T do email without internet, ya CAN'T get updates for windows or Linux based o.s. kernel updates, etc WITHOUT internet, and ya CAN'T. now the cloud. I DONT 100% trust my stuff on yet. Like ssd market it has NOT yet had real time to PROVE its dependability. Thus I dont put all my movies, music, and other backup stuff on a 1 tb ssd yet although everything i've research say ssd=safer

  • @chronofusion well i just use my single computer for everything......it's nice to be able to have full functionality in a computer. this has the capibility of some of the new android phones on the market...... because you have a custom built pc i know you understand that everything does not work with the minimalist approach.....sometime you want power and functionality. the price is too high for a web browser that i can get already on my laptop with more functionality.

  • But the real question is? 'Will it blend?'

  • @FoyKidd stick it in a blender and find out (facepalm) dumbass. Stop asking such idiotic questions.

  • ...what if your internet goes down? and theres no more wi-fi spots near you? [possibly a stupid question]

  • so this is a useless piece of shit and people arre going to get it becasue of the ammount of fucking promo it is getting twats

  • SKYNET FTW

  • ENTER THE BOTNET

  • If Google would make babies, then the world would be perfect.

  • can you make it take an arrow to the knee

  • Wow, a promotion for paedophiles. Lets put all our photos on the web for them.

  • damn goole guys... the know how to do attractive commercial

  • 666 logo XP

  • What about the introduction of 4G internet?

  • I do believe Cloud computing is the future, however I hate the idea of doing everything online (programs and such). I may be skeptical but i'm almost certain everything you do will be monitored by large corporations. You wouldn't have any confidential data because everything you write, say or do is passed through a server and your data will be stored somewhere. It's the same with smart phones.

  • This is utter SHIT, all they are trying to do is make everything you own, theirs. Nothing is ours anymore. It's all digital, obsolete, metaphors floating around in an abstract web of nothing. Indeed this is illuminati...

  • this is awesome ( no its a piece of shit )

  • But the main problem is Will It Blend?

  • indeed it is a good concept but at today's technology that's open to the public its pretty obsolete, it would much more efficient to use a real OS and just do the chores to keep your PC safe.

  • Ill pass. I dont need another internet plan. Already got $40 Home + $25 phone.

  • AWESOME! For me this is perfect, the programs i run for making my show eat space like a crazy and its always like you need s new pc overtime! I'd rather buy software acess that i need, then new pc's that i do not need!

  • It would be a good idea if we had free wireless internet access every ware

  • So.... You're trying to sell me the internet in a box? I already have the internet. And a multimedia centre. In a box.

  • WHAT!? This is it!? Total garbage! This is not what I would be using due to the fact you can't download anything! How are people going to upload videos!? How are people going to use skype? How are people going to take something off of the computer with a USB port? SEE!?

  • Cloud computing is an interesting concept. However... since your "computer would be the internet..." could it mean that you or your internet usage is even more subject to possible bills like S.978, SOPA, or ProtectIP?

  • or, how about get a laptop with a real OS and use the chrome browser?

  • Not gonna work if S.O.P.A. gets through...

  • now this makes me not want to buy it.

  • The Chromebook, destroying downloads.

  • Say you throw it into a river. THUMBS UP IF YOU WOULD, THUMBS IF YOU WOULDN'T LOL!

  • Yes, there are patches to ChromeOS. It is Linux after all.

  • Yes there is something to start up, the laptop :V

  • @TechAndGamingReviews Google Docs has Slide Shows, however no movie maker. But I'm sure there are web based alternatives.

  • @BritishConor Who would want to edit a movie on a netbook anyway?

  • @AngryRantingNerd I have no idea. :)

  • so no skype and downloading movies?

  • so the man is talking to a 'chromebook'.

  • It has an Atom processor.. it was almost awesome. Sigh...

  • thats it, im getting it for christmas :D

  • haha love this advert :D great idea aswell

  • So there is no desktop... you can play downloadable games? you cant download music, and worst of all you cant draw little boxes on the screen when your're bored... no thanks I'd prefer my pc... I can do everything shown in this video but without spending money on a new "web"

  • Comment removed

  • what if i wanted to sync my ipod?

  • its a scam so everyone is nown dont get it, people could get your indenterty fake you indenterty be you if you save you pursunle seting on to it they could be taking your money i dont trust it thers something fish about it DONT GET IT!!!

  • My desktop is messy.

  • nah, ill buy a laptop, then i can play world of warcraft :DD

  • Can i just also point out, that basically, all this does, is go on the internet?

but it loads super fast and shit?

so why dont i just buy a really top end laptop that does EVERYTHING, STILL loads fast, for the SAME price?!

  • @tHickman95 Chromium exploits the "cloud". The cloud is internet space, (I have to work within character limit here) simply, so you download music, videos, games, and it will work just as fast as new, as you don't clog up space, or RAM. This means that in 10 years time, if google keeps going with the project (which they will with the current projections made), you'll be spending eight times more for a laptop that becomes outdated/slow. On top of that, the chromebook will NEVER slow down.

  • @thedebatecast Oh, and I am using one right now. It works brilliantly. Reccomending the samsung chromebook 5 to everyone who'd use it.

  • what if i want to, oh, i dont know, DOWNLOAD SOMETHING?

  • only problem: on a train, in a car or on a unicycle, you don't have an internat connection. is it like a 3g laptop?!?

  • @JoshEdwardsChannel you can on trains

  • So..100% Wireless (As ln The First Solar Powered eBook/L-top)?

lf You've Beaten JP to lt, ..Then l'd Say Chrome : 'Your Amazing' and l'm : 'lnspired'..

  • But what if I wanted to do things that don't involve the web?!

  • @EllaBrenna youtube and porn why would you need more

  • internet goes down?

  • Why woould you pay more, for less things? e.g: Hardrive

  • Cloud computing is rubbish. I really hope this isn't where the future is taking us.

  • @bocketroom "Cloud computing is rubbish" yet the website you're putting a comment on uses cloud computing to make sure you a) can watch the video in the first place without waiting, b) can upload your own videos without being in a queue and c) make stupid comments on other videos instantly without seemingly any knowledge of the topic you're commenting about.

    Yeah, cloud computing is rubbish.

  • @SqueezeDontPull Lol, you're fucked if you dont have access to the internet 24/7 anywhere everywhere.

  • @SqueezeDontPull well computing and web are very different the reason cloud computing just isnt going to work at the moment is becasue of the sheer number of cds and how much software is installed via disc and this will be the case for at least another decade and it will not change overnight it will be the same as to what has happened to cds they still excist they are just getting less and less popular as the ammount of digital downloads goes up

  • @refaran1245 well thats just bent

  • that is a cool ad

  • I don't get it...

  • ILLUMINATI !!!

  • assuming we have ultra fast fibre optic broadband, and 4G standard everyone corner of the world, not gonna happen in a few years, icloud is the way to go

  • @PastWWEEpisodes Instead of running Windows it runs ChromeOS, a very lightweight OS built around the Chrome browser. You do nearly everything through that using web apps. The idea is to get you online as quick as possible so it boots very quickly and the only thing to load is the browser. Check out some other videos or a review or two, they'd probably explain it better than me. I can't see them replacing a home computer but would be very good on the move.

  • @PastWWEEpisodes Yes, yes, yes, no (but it can play music, just not itunes), yes. It is still a laptop. It's pretty much Chrome but with added goodness. There is a file browser behind it but it's all built to work online. If you're using Chrome just throw some files at it, you'd be surprised what it can open.

  • @AaronFitton333 but no mods :O!

  • appple did it already with the ipad

  • But that is what i makes a computer..to have folders, and stuff.

  • throwing your chromebook into a river whilst riding a unicycle cause you're a fearless bastard.

  • so wait if u throw it in a river it screws up. hmm...NEXT!

  • So no reliable internet connection = useless. hmm interesting, think i will give it a miss.

  • awesome ad :)

  • Umm, how are you supposed to play video games on it? Such as Black Ops and such?

  • cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeezy

  • Really nice idea, i'm looking forward to it

  • BONKERS!

  • But can you download your games on it?

  • I already waste enough time on the internet on my computer. I'd waste even more time if I used the internet on my phone and with chromebook I'd be wasting even more time.

Just wasting life by living online, may as well join second life.. and make money online by selling virtual internet property. Then when I'm on my death bed I could update my blog so everyone can share the experience and so I wont die alone.. Maybe my followers can attend my virtual funeral too, go RSVP a spot on facebook

  • I wonder how many people will throw it in a river just because of this video

  • 8 seconds!!!!!

  • What about an Ocean?

  • its just a gray google chrome with a logon screen and a file manager...

  • Thanks google! You invent the best Web browser then you go beyond thta by turning it into a Chrome Book! I am wanting one, if i can get one, depends!!

  • i want to throw my pc into a river

  • @iglooset I want to throw a few apple stores in that river.

  • "can i use it on a Unicycle?" Our lawyers arent going to like that!

  • a 14 year old might look at this and suddenly scream DAD!

  • im not gonna throw my fucking laptop in a river.... :P

  • "No wireless networks detected"

    "FUUUUUUUUUUUU-!"

  • dont you need internet connection to get on the web..in a car, train, bus, plane..you cant go on it as nothing is on it but internet and with no connection there is fuck all to do.

  • It's like a normal laptop just you can't do anything on it when you get a powercut!

  • whats a lap top without minecraft anyway

  • what about plug ins ? you can do fuck all on the internet without plug ins

  • so you turn this on and immediatly your on like internet

  • Ahh, damn you adverts, your forcing me to love the Chromebooks, now look what you've done, you made me pre-order one!!!!

  • Cute <3

  • I'm watching this video on Google Chrome. Why would I buy one of these? I CANT EVEN FUCKING PLAY MINECRAFT ON IT.

  • @iDarkMadness thing is, you probably can

  • I prefer to use a proper laptop, or install Debian on one of these underpowered chromebooks.

  • do they really have to translate this?

  • best video ever!

  • @Koman92040 Thanks for the message however i couldn't find anything about that on the website. Is it something that is only taking place in the US?

  • I wouldn't pay £450 or so my god.

  • Any Chance of Google sending a poor broke student one out of Google greatness? :D

  • @Abulqh google is "leasing" them to students in the US for $20 USD a month winch includes technical support, and accidental damage coverage. I would check out their link in the description for the price in the UK.

  • I WANT ONE!!!!!

  • no privacy .... that is what it is all about. Why should I upload sensitive data to Googles servers? They will just catalogue it and sell it to the highest bidder. Information = Money!

  • @aasimazam But it's safe and secure in their hands >_<

  • @aasimazam mmm nah i dont think so, unless you're a very very very important person

  • Comment removed

  • @hsgowers A search engine ^_^

  • I've just been watching adverts for half an hour...and enjoying it? Damn, Google, you got me there.

  • @Annoyingthing321 I know right?! XD Why are their advertisements so fun? >_<

  • that's pretty awesome

  • Umm How Will i game??
