  • @TimetoGo8711 You are hallucinating. I never posted anything about a grade 2 band. I think your comment was intended to the person who posted @ me. Look carefully.

  • o not to mention that n top of that My home was destroyed in hurrican katrina and then burned down after my family and I had rebuilt it. I dont let people or events tell me I am not capable of achieving; stating that a pipe band is lesser than another based upon its geographic location is simply stupid

  • I agree with fltopp1 i start piping and was discouraged by the grade II and I pipers saying i didnt have what it takes and that i was a novice, so i proved them wrong. After only being on the chanter for 8 months and then moving to the pipes, playing a cheap R.G. Hardie set I out played a chapionship grade II piper..after only a total of 2 years of contact with the instrument, o Also i was a 17 year old high shcool student working four jobs and compleatly funded it myself, nothing is impossible

  • Jokes about American piping? Are you serious? You must be ill. Get well soon.

  • @fltopp1 I guess there might be no jokes if you just view the joke as being too obvious to make. Is it not obvious to everyone that American piping generally sucks compared to Scottish, Irish, Canadian, Austalian, etc.? The only real jokers are the mildly retarded individuals like "Mr. Dress and Deportment" who couldn't carry a tune if it had a handle yet are worried about positioning of flashes on calves. There are many of these fools in the U.S. and they are a total embarrassment.

  • @ChrisZ70 Ironically, the 7 time world champs happen to be in my neck of the woods and I guarentee my grade II band will beat most of your European grade II's this next year at the worlds. You can talk all you want, but people who make stupid arrogant statements such as yours are what gives piping a negative light to the newer pipers. Have a nice day.

  • @ChrisZ70 hahaha you're a joke. anyone who needs to go onto field marshall's videos and post about their shitty grade 2 band to feel good about themselves is a joke. GTFO

  • @electricslipper Your comments have made me so proud to be a member of the EUSPBA. Please continue your efforts so that we may have proper dress and deportment while the rest of the world jokes about American piping

  • My bucket list also :-) great video, wish I were there.

  • This world championship of piping is now on my bucket list along with the Edinburgh Military Tattoo.

  • Congratulation for winning the world championship 2011 in Glasgow !!!

I looked it with some friends via the BBC internetstream.

  • wow! congratulations great performance.

  • IT'S ABOUT PRESENTATION AS WELL AS PERFORMANCE, NO USE BEING THE GREATEST MUSICIANS IN THE WORLD IF YOUR UNIFORM ISN'T PRESENTABLE.

  • Those are some very expensive kilts. Heels must touch except for the pipe major. Some flashes crooked. Wet weather must have played Hell with the pipes. Excellent tempo changes.

  • @electricslipper you're worried about the flashes?

  • @IwishIcouldFC As a EUSPBA judge, I notice every detail of a performance regardless if it is a civilian or military competition. Just in case you might be thinking of photographic "flashes," I should indicate that the flashes of which I refer are those pieces of usually red, swallow-tailed material that peek out from beneath the top of the hose. Their proper placement is absolute lateral, and below the knee and just below the fold of the hose. I do hope I did not confuse you.

  • Comment removed

  • @electricslipper No confusion, i know what they are, but i just found the performance the center of attention, rather than uniform, but whatever way you see it, hey. Haha

  • @IwishIcouldFC Precision in all things.

  • @electricslipper Im with the EUSPBA too, and they're probably the most careless out of all pipe band associations if you ask me, haha

  • @electricslipper "absolute lateral"....does that mean that the flashes should be centered on the sides of the leg?

  • @SGDrummie1642 The lateral aspect of the hose beneath the turn-over. I did not mean to confuse you

  • @electricslipper I'm not confused, I just wanted to get clarification on your meaning of "lateral". Do you mean equal length and centered on the sides of the leg, i.e. dead center of the calf as viewed from the side?

  • @SGDrummie1642 My dear fellow, We are not speaking of the calf per se but rather the position of the flash upon the lateral aspect of the hose. Again, I apologize for the confusion I may have caused you.

  • @electricslipper And again, I'm not confused. I'm just trying to get around your deflections. "Lateral" meaning the sides, and your use of "absolute lateral" says that, in your opinion, the flashes should be centered on the sides of the legs/hose.

  • @SGDrummie1642 I am overjoyed that you are not confused and that you will live a happy productive life. Good luck.

  • @electricslipper Typical nonsense coming from an EUSPBA "judge". Especially their Drum Major judges...kinda like a "street corner lawyer" only more annoying. The only people you are confusing are the ones who don't know what the dress rules are, and THAT is a disservice to the piping community. Tough to be an educator when you don't have the knowledge yourself.

  • @SGDrummie1642 My dear fellow,

Thank you for your comments though less than cogent but strangely somewhat amusing.

I am truly sorry you are so confused and distressed. Here's wishing you a speedy recovery. However, I do find your futile attempts at a clever riposte a bit on the dull side.

My humble suggestion would for you to take up Rugby and spend a little time in the scrum. Perhaps then your comments might not seem so "light in the boughs."

    No offense of course.

    Get well soon!

  • @electricslipper That is exactly the type of response I expected, thank you for proving my point. As a judge, you should be helping to educate and advance the people who you are judging. A normal person would have answered the question. Instead, you deflect and attempt to belittle. You might be a judge with that haughty attitude. But I believe you are just a shit stirrer, as evidenced by your pathetic attempts on Don Shipley's video. A big mouth behind a keyboard. Good luck with that.

  • @SGDrummie1642 Ah there you are my dear fellow. Hope you feel better now. Chief Shipley has developed quite a reputation and is getting a lot of national face time. Good on him. As for you, my dear fellow, I do hope you have vented your spleen and have found some measure of peace. Thanks again for your interest

  • Comment removed

  • @electricslipper LOL My spleen is fine, but thanks for your concern! And thanks too for showing everyone here on YouTube that you are, indeed, someone who is suffering from "little man syndrome" as the Chief so aptly stated. You know the type....the one's who always has to have the last word? And usually a snarky last word at that! I'll tell you what, pull up your Big Boy Pants and say who you are, and I'll be happy to buy you a pint at the next Games. We can talk then of "flashes"... =)

  • @SGDrummie1642

Ah there you are again my dear fellow.

You do seem in better spirits and are of seemingly pleasant countenance. For this, I am sure we are both grateful.

Be of good cheer and may you howl with the wolves and dance with the dawn.

    "Nemo Me Impune Lacessit"

  • i recon, world champs 2011.. the only thing in their way is their drumming which SLOT could pinch from them and possibly topple them from the top spot..

  • World class

  • champions, of champions this year i reckon.

  • I'm finding "Charlie's Welcome" to be a ferociously difficult tune to play. - And another cool thing about this video is seeing Ian MacLellan in the foreground, judging, and knowing their performance meets his standard and that the legend approves.

  • Beautiful video & sound. Thanks. What camera?

  • Comment removed

  • @Maddplaid A strange comment given that you've made this particular video one of your favourites on your own channel!

  • Mint ,2/4.......

  • I still prefer SLOT but FMM are right behind them and might just catch up this year.

  • Sounds great, well done!

  • Absolutely Fabulous

  • OMG how big is that pipe corp?! Brilliant sound!

  • FMM sounding good again this year.

  • Great as always !! Good job

  • There's band's can't get that sound on a perfect day!!

    Superb!

  • There is allways one whats there not to like?

  • One person "dislikes" this?!?!?

  • Pulled out the John Roy Stewart! Love it...finally some change.

  • @coyotedib Agreed. The last time I heard a band play that 'spey in an MSR was the early '70s on an Edinburgh Police album. LOL FMM played it in their medley years ago, and I'm really glad they put it in their set here. Fantastic.

  • @ChrisZ70 A damn hard tune at that too! Well done, FMM!
