So happy i found you. U don't have to be sorry about anything. Everything is clear and easy to follow. I love following u u r the best of the best.
I make lots of baby blankets. Would u recommend this kind of fringe or do u think babies or toddlers would get fingers tangled in the fringe? Thank u again for doing this for people.
Instead of large knit ndl - use dowel, comes in 4' pieces @ diverse girths. Choose your length and cut to size. 1" dowel = 50 mm ndl. Lightly fine sand dowel and crazy glue prescription bottle lid to one end. Hold the dowel between legs while sitting and with both hands free to crochet like normal, follow directions for broomstick lace or fringe. Shine ON* Katie
@Bethintx1 - I don't have any way to video working on the dowels, but if you check out MsWolfdeck at Ravelry dot com I have uploaded a picture of the dowels. Also, tried a paper towel roll worked the same way, i.e. held between legs while sitting, and wonderful, it will do in the short term for a project.
BTW - Forgot to thank you for uploading your vids on broomstick lace. Didn't know it existed and am really enjoying myself. Idle hands makes for a stressed-out chain-smoker... Shine ON* Katie
@MsWolfdeck Thanks for sharing references. I really do not have official broomstick lace videos right now, so viewers who wish to learn the technique have to rely on other sources.
Beth, this is wonderful! Thanks for making this video, since I didn't know you could make the loops for "fringe" without having to make them by hand AND THEN... tie them on as I did for a prayer shawl. From now on, I'm doing this!!! (You've given me encouragement to learn this crochet method:)
For the first time, I saw a broomstick stitch the other day on a ribbon yarn shawl. It was new to me, and here you are doing it! good to learn. Thanks. I knit, too. That's another thing we have in common! LOL
@MyassWins I learned to crochet when i was 11 years old. My Cousin Cathy & Aunt Gertie both taught me. I taught myself to knit when i was in my mid 20's. It was about 10 years later (after watching Knitty Gritty, a TV show) I discovered I was doing it wrong! I was making a twisted knit stitch. I still prefer crochet. This is a crochet stitch, not knitting.
@Bethintx1 Heh I know its crocheting, you're just doing it around a knitting needle. I know how to knit, trying to learn crocheting. But that knitting needle seems neat lol.
@hotdog1997 I'm considering it, but I have such a long to do list for crochet videos, that I might not get to them. KnittingHelp (here on You Tube) knits almost exactly the same way I do. She also teaches in the same style as I do. I have a link to her channel on my Channel page.

Just beautiful... where do you get all your ideas from? Thanks so much for showing us this technique!

@montrealstars60 Often the ideas come from viewers questions. Sometimes I'm inspired by a pattern some yarn or something I design.

Man one day i shall get one of those huge knitting needles.
Did you learn to knit or crochet first? And was it passed down to you (family member) or did you teach yourself?

caN i use that the wooden knitting needle?
Stephy27Pooh 1 year ago
@Stephy27Pooh Absolutely. The larger the needle, the longer the loops on the fringe.
