@Xarmy187 nah man this engine is going in a classic 2wd 53 f-100 pickup not going to be towing with it .i wasn't sure about the cam choice that i had made but your video makes me think it will do just want i wanted
@TheFordsforme should be fine then. If its a automatic, you will want steep gears, and a stall converter around 2200 rpm minimum. The cam comes alive at 3000rpm, and by 3500 its pulling like a SOB.

@f100lover91 thanks! trickflow twisted wedge heads, slightly ported, trickflow stage 2 cam, and victor 5.0 intake manifold. plus all the other support mods
when u cam it with the stage 2 and put headers on there (thats all)......do have tweek stuff alot or does it run pretty good......and how much more performance can u feel?
but you can't install this cam with stock heads, it won't clear the pistons. and yes, you will feel a difference with these kind of modifications........... thats what they are for.
@ROBBY639 driveability? no. a "bigger cam" like the trickflow stage 2 requires a higher idle, and should let the car warm up a bit before you go driving.
the computer has a hard time keeping up with the cam tune or not.
that being said, you could still drive it every day, and in heavy traffic, ETC. but its not the same as stock.
@PurcellMotorSports26 you have to have valve springs that match the cam. if you use valve springs that done have enough pressure like stock springs, you will have horrible valve float.
valve float will kill the power, and can cause other issues. Good luck on the swap. don't hesitate to ask questions.

@1SirCarlton just another 302. with as bad as I have been having vibration in the motor that is in the car, im sure the crank is damaged. so i found another 302 for $200 for the complete long block.
going to put in some new bearings, and call it good. should pick up a bit of power since the old motor was way down on compression in one cylinder, high miles, and had the spun bearing no doubt at the time of the dyno.

Bought a '89 long block off a guy for $200. so going to use that since im pretty sure my current motors crank is screwed. have the new short block rebuilt with just rings and bearings. install all my junk on it. drop it in. then im working on upgrading a few things. Winter lasts a long time here in colorado, so I have a lot of time.
@StephenPowers12 I have UPR upper and lower control arms, and strange engineering 10 way adjustable shocks, with the shocks stiff, I dont get ANY wheel hop, and it launch's HARD. with the shocks set soft, like for crusing, and stuff, it hop's pretty bad, but nothing crazy

@Justice3O5 well its said that if "cold" air can reach the valves, it will instantly warp them. I find this unlikely with there being roughly 12 revolutions a SECOND of the motor/firing the motor.

@Justice3O5 lol, cold is a relative term. the temperature inside the combustion chamber can be over 1,000 degrees. so comparing that too 85 degrees outside.... oh yea, it will warp the metal if it could reach the valve.
I don't think you should worry unless you unbolted the header, and started the car with the headers OFF the motor.
@gymped1 275/50/15 Micky Thompson Drag Radials. They are DOT approved to run on the street, and work very well. but once they start to wear out, It gets down right terrifying to drive in the rain

@PurcellMotorSports26 cam swap is easy. just have to remove the fan, radiator, accessories, and timing cover.
you could get it done in a day easy, as long as you have the right gaskets. Also your valve springs must match the cam.

@BigDiesel85 haha, simple mistake. I had the shop mount the tires to the rims, and I wasn't paying attention when I just slapped them on the car.
Just have to put in the o2 sensors, reinstall the shifter, and swap the tires, and she is ready for the road again.
400-600miles of "easy" driving to break in the clutch.
and knowing me, "easy" driving just means not shifting hard as hell, lol.
