I remember laughing so hard when I first saw this. To be fair to all the commenters not knowing who Shaun is, I'm 16 and when I first got into Gorillaz when Demon Days came out, had no idea who he was when I saw the music video for 'DARE'. Since then, I discovered Happy Mondays, and am currently reading Shaun's autobiography. He's a legend in his own right, and this video certainly doesn't do him justice. Don't slag him off before you listen to the amazing songs his OWN BAND produced. Thanks ;)

And it's a general rule of thumb that studio versions are just better quality because you get a lot of do-overs and mastering before the final product. It's not necessarily a fuck up on his part, but Ryder's tradition, as far as I'm aware (and correct me if I'm wrong) is that he goes on slightly high so he can put on a show. His legend comes from him busting a fool. A lot.
