  • Hello my friend. Your Suburban is great. What size engine was that? I have two questions for you regarding Suburbans that you may be able to answer for me. The first of which...I heard that some of them during the mid and late 1970's came equipped with the 250 six cylinder. Just wondering if that was true. I have always loved that engine. My second question is did they ever come equipped with a column mounted three speed manual transmission? Thank you for taking the time to read my posting.

  • ahh the sound of gas tank burning wallet destroying fun!!!

I want one of these so bad!!!

  • did u buy this cause u liked it and wanted to restore it or just because it is what u can afford?

  • you are right they sure don't build them like they used to i had 85 2wd with 454 everything i did to it was done in my back yard as well as my 81 caddy with 5.7 Diesel, i do all the work to it at home, but these new cars you get into an accident they have to melt down your old beer cans to replace the parts that broke

  • i paid $800 for my 86 1/2 ton burb with a 350, 700r4, 154,000mi, straight body, silverado, bucket seats, but the paint needs redone, needs new valvestem seals, the ac has a leak, the heater core is dead, none of the cliamate controll fans worked, the oil and battery gauges are dead, vacuum lines were shot, has bad carb, broken choke, etc.

  • Bravo to the Suburban ............. mine is a 1977 4x4 model ......... we love our work horse tow vehicle. ours is a silverado model in pretty fair shape on it's 2nd motor

454 cid w/rear a/c option . the only rust area on ours is the rear upper roof area where the rear ac evap. drain must have plugged and let water sit ..... ouch, it can be seen in the background in a couple of our videos here on Y-T.
