Does no one remember the proud and powerful Ramsay's? Sir. Alexander Ramsay died in this castle and he was my great great ect Grandfather, he died their in 1342.
The Ramsay's were assassins sure, but Sir Alexander was a patriot of Scotland and defended his homeland and made several large blows aginst the English. Just know that a great man's ghost dwell's there. Sir Alexander was given titles for his patriotism but declined every one of them. That may be the lack of knowledge of him.

damn,i've wanted to go there for a long time. stupid question for you,i hear this particualr castle is very eerie,and it's supposedly haunted..did you get any impressions of that??

Yes, the Elliot's and Armstrong clan were the most feared clans in the Borders area.
The Armstong's and Elliot's were great allies.

I've been there. I don't believe in ghosts and crap like that but it is a really spooky place. I wouldn't want to spend a night alone there.

Nice video of the castle, though you went on a sunny day - the castle doesn't really look its best unless it's cold and miserable :o)
