great info, lots of help, this may be off topic but was wondering how do you stop pops and glitches on an m audio fast track audio interface, iv tried increasing the latency but it sounds worse than my lap tops sound card itself :/
There are much cheaper ways to keep yourself protected man. In Canada there is SOCAN...in the US its ASCAP. Register your material there. it's free...although there may be a small registration fee. I registered over 15 years ago. look into it.
Another 2 cents - and the cheapest form of copyright.
Mail yourself a copy of the material you wish to copyright. once it goes through the post office is is stamped/dated and returned to the sender. don't open it!!!!
