  • Valve really needs to shrink the Fucksman hitbox. How intelligent do they have to be to get hitboxes right?

  • @Draknfyre One rocket jump in and the sniper is fucked, unless he plays competitive in which case he could go for an aerial headshot. But a majority of the time even the likes of Justin, Mackey and Liquid can not land it, and will get juggled and killed, unable to scope in or fire arrows in mid air.

  • At very close range (in front of your face), you can do 200dmg at headshot, killing a soldier instantly. It's always good to pair up your huntsman with jarate or smg to finish your enemies easier.

    Spam at head levels and at narrow passageway. A good prediction, practices and a bit of luck will make you a deadly Robin Hood.

    The huntsman is difficult to use and anyone who has used it enough knows that its balanced,everything in TF2 is balanced when viewed objectively.

  • The arrow when shot straight ahead perpendicular to a surface will always end up slightly to the right relative to the player. I have stood square at the wall and shot at pleanty of sprays to know the arrows ends up to the right of where the aim reticle is. Where is the character's head at 0:10? Slightly to the left, and therefore the arrow ends up in the head hit box which is slightly to the right. Your initial shot was not perpendicular to the wall. Nice try though.

    hunts man is hard enough to use on its own. yea you can spam it into hordes of enemies and get kills but you can do the same thing with any other projectile weapons.

    look at the direct hit, it EXPLODES on contact, isnt affected by gravity,dosent need to be charged, can crit,does more damage, can be shot while moving, and can be used to rocket jump.

    soldier has 200 hp, is much faster, and has better weapons than the sniper.

    only advantage huntsman has is headshots.

    You think the Soldier is faster than the Sniper? The Soldier is the third slowest class in the game. The Sniper runs faster. Solider moves at 80% speed.

    He still has a slower base moving speed than the Sniper. If that's the case then I can say the Heavy is fast when using the GRU, since he gets as fast as the Scout.

    base speed dosent matter much when you have medics t hat can heal you and medkits.

    the sniper can barely move when he shoots the bow and is a easy target.

    and heavy/scout dont even matter.

    so.

    the soldier can move to combat faster AND is more mobile in combat while having a better weapon and more hitpoints

    soldier wins.

    end of discussion.

    We're not talking about combat potential, I frankly don't give a shit if a Soldier can take a Sniper on head-to-head, face-to-face and win.

    You said "is much faster than the Sniper". no, he's not. We're not talking about the Huntsman, we're not talking about a Medic combo, we're talking speed. You are comparing two different classes with two different purposes. Find that Sniper when he runs away from your ass around corners. Without the Equalizer and being hurt.

  • huntsman is like a rocket launcher for sniper, execpt for less ammo, no splash damage, 1 shot 1 reload, charge and sniper has lower health.

    if there were no similar hitbox, (like the one in the video) the huntsman would be the worst weapon ever to kill with.

  • However, if the Huntsman uses projectile hitboxes, how do they know if it's a headshot? Do they just ask if the arrow hits the highest... quarter of the projectile hitbox?

    Presumably, although there's nothing stopping Valve from having a second slightly-smaller "huntsman headbox" inside the main volume, and testing if the arrow would have entered it.

    Unfortunately they removed several of the commands I used to make the video, probably because people misunderstood what it did and (wrongly) complained that it showed the game had bad hitboxes. Try using sv_showlagcompensation and firing a single bullet while looking at a bot.

  • that's fail, the hitboxes need to be reduced

  • The hitbox is necessary because otherwise it'd be too hard to hit even at close range. The spamming arguement doesn't really work because you can't do a good shot without charging.

  • It takes 0.5 secs to charge a shot that will go strait. The hit boxes at close range should be reduced or the damage should be reduced at very close range.

  • I hope you at least realize that, even tho the hitboxes work fine since the arrow is being considered a projectile, it should not work like that. You're not supposed to hit with arrows this easily, and this is easily proved in game where noob snipers like me can easily farm some points by either spamming arrows or having useless aim.

  • the huntsman is supposed to be the more challenging weapon for the sniper, the reason why the hitbox is that is cuz its a projectile and it would be way too hard to hit if it wasnt like that when i played with sniper rifle i got many headshots but when i try the bow i dont get as many headshots as then
