Naturally, this is an adaption of an old bluegrass song. For an authentic version of the original, check Frank Wakefield & Red Allen's version from "The Kitchen Tapes" on Acoustic Disc.
anyone out there remembers MUSKRAT? Awesome song about animals. Come on peeps, crank it up!! The kids, especially the little ones will love it. I GUARANTEE IT. THE EVERLY BROTHERS.
@01musicfan COOL. How about "Henry the ardvark" with" Adam & The ants"in full retreat! RIGHT ON MAN. STAY COOL. Sgt. Ronald J.Campbell, U.S.Army, Ret.
First their was Batman and Robin. Now for the other Dynamic Duo, DON AND PHIL EVERLY.The best instictive singers that have and will ever live. I don't know about you guys and gals, but living on the same block with both dynamic duos would suit me just fine.
@01musicfan Right on man, glad I checked my mail. Did you know that DON AND PHIL were U.S. Marines? Stay cool and happy man. The ricky nelson, Sgt. Ronald J. Campbell, U.S. Army Ret.
I have "Muskrat" on the LP "The Golden Hits of The Everly Brothers", but only the 45 has that beautiful little flute solo at the end. Until I heard this again since 1961, I wasn't sure if I had dreamt it, but there it is. Thanks for uploading this Everly Bros. classic!
Love this version, as well as the others I've heard! Can't beat those Everlys! Great posting. Thanks, 01Musicfan, and Thanks, Belovia for sending "Don't Blame Me"!
After establishing themselves on Cadence since 1957, the Brothers signed on to Warners in 1960. Their recording career was interrupted the following year, however, when Don & Phil decided to join the Marine Corps.
The Everlys have made an impact on several performers. You can hear their obvious vocal influence when you listen to Buddy Holly, The Beatles, The Hollies, The Searchers, The Byrds or Simon & Garfunel for starters.
This is similar to the one I have on the Everly Brothers PLATINUM COLLECTION. I've heard another version of it on the internet with different wording, making three versions I've heard thus far. Thank you, 01musicfan.
The only difference I'm finding in this one and the one I have is the music at the end of this song. It's different. I really do like this version. Thanks.
Good old song,,RWB
