Don't like Barkley but I do agree with him on this. I'm a Lakers fan and even i've noticed that the Lakers even unto their recent games- have been on cruise control or just under that. No matter whom they play they're decision to win a game isn't in the beggining, it comes during the half if they're up to par or not. Kobe isn't slowing down he's just on a cruise, that evidently isn't up to standards. But I think the reason for the Lakers slow-down is they're taking it easy for the playoff run.

Coming from a laker fan, I have to admit. Lakers are a little bit lazy because, well, I guess because they can. They have the best players in the NBA, so why should they play so tough like the lower division teams? I mean, they just lost to the bobcats lol

I guess thats good in a way, because if Lakers are this good while playing lazy, they become amazing when they REALLY turn it on. (AKA playoffs) I guess they save their energy.....

It's outrageous and utterly untrue, but for the sake of example, let's just say the Timberwolves went on a 15 game stride, and the Cavaliers lost 10 straight. Just because the Timberwolves might have the better record doesn't mean they're better than Cleveland, all players in place.

The Magic are the most annoying team when it comes to how they actually play. They have Dwight Howard and don't use him at all. They jack up 3's and when they're not hitting their 3's, they're not going to win. The Cavs are the most annoying team in general by the way they act. LeBron is one of the biggest tools in sports.

i think phil puts them in situation like last night, through substitutions and plays, to test his team and help them get used to these scinarios, so when it comes down to playoffs and finals they can think calmly and clearly. notice how they usually keep it close or trail going in to the 3rd nd 4th then kobe turns it on and they finish with momentum. phill is o.k with these close loses because it reminds the team they are not invincable. they could blow every team out but then wouldnt win clutch

I kind of agree with the point they are trying to make. The Lakers has a long history in recent years of failing to drop the hammer on teams they should blow out. They always wait until the 3rd or 4th quarter before they turn it on. Luckily they have both the talent and the coaching to pretty much win whenever they feel like it.

i'm a Lakers fan and i agree with you guys about the Lakers having the most individual talent vs teamwork in the NBA and thats the reason why they win. but i don't think they are ARROGANT. i think just being the best doesn't bring out the inner fight in you until you are cornered against a wall.. when your winning while your not tryin 100%, why try 100% and waste energy? I also think Pau is just as intense as Kobe, but in his own way. Bynum/LO could show more tenacity.
