see the only problem with brand new that i am having is that... ive listened to them so much that their music to me is so played out that it doesnt that amazing feeling anymore... lame im pissed about that and i want a fourth album NOW
Don't worry, they're in the studio now, from what I hear. A new album should be out really late this year, or early 2009. Hopefully it won't be another three-plus year wait like we had to between Deja and The Devil and God
The way Jesse sings the backing lyrics at the end is so haunting. When I saw them play this, I guess Derrick, or Vin was singing them, and it was barely audible over the 7 or 8 people on stage
i am going to see them march 29th and i think thats their last show for a while - i am so psyched! i missed them on this tour so its like my 2nd chance lol
This tour was really great musically. Brandnew, Thrice, and Mewithoutyou all play really great music. But I wasn't too thrilled with the crowds that were drawn to it. Brandnew, for some reason, attracts a lot of scene sluts and Thrice has the few meathead douchebag fans that ruin the entire feel of the crowd. I ended up just sitting back and enjoying the music, which is what I've come to do at most shows lately. Three of my favourite bands. Quality vid.
i thought thrice played better than brand new at this show...personally im a bigger fan of brand new but i thought thrice should have palyed longer...i was sitting at the top right next to the column
My show was alot worse. I swear to you there were people literally crowd surfing and yelling to each other while he was doing a morrisey cover and alot of other acoustic songs at the beggining. It was even hard to hear him. I blame it on the thrice crowd. God that was an awful band to have to sit through. The night was an amazing one though later on it was so beautiful. It felt as if I were on extacy my vision was even blurred haha.
There's definitely no love lost between fans of the bands. Personally, I was more annoyed by all the 14 year old girls there to see Brand New, but that just may be me;)
I know exactly what you mean. Before the show I talked to a few people and not one of them had even heard of Thrice...it was kinda disappointing to know that so many of the people there had gone just to see Brand New since Thrice is, in my opinion, just as good as (if not better than) Brand New.
@smailtronic Why does it matter how old everyone is at the show? I was fourteen when I went to my first Brand New show and I was fucking thrilled. Music doesn't have anything to do with AGE. Brand New saved and changed my life at fourteen and helped me cope with a lot of shit, like my best friend dying. There's all of these dumb standards about how you have to be this old in order to listen to certain bands. I agree with some of them to an extend, but not with BN.
I'd say he's ripping off Hawkwind, Radiohead, Bright Eyes, The Beatles and a few others, but not sigur ros lol Still, one of my favourite songs from one of my favourite albums ever.
@brighteyes498 haha Your comment was two years ago dude, and I went through the SAME thing just this past November. Thrice opened. I blame those douchebags.
dang. no luca from this show? i was amazed that not a sound was made when the band drops out and its just jesse whispering and barely playing guitar. i figured no one had that kind of respect in them based on the usual crowd at house of blues shows.
it's not your fault, about the talking idiots

dude brand new never gets old. Period. the ending of this is so great... he even added the lyric "I'll never have to buy adjacent plots of earth
We'll never have to rot together underneath dirt
I'll never have to lose my baby in the crowd
I should be laughing right now" separate instead of in the back ground...smart jesse!

They did play Luca, but I had taped them playing Luca at the same venue back in April, and I was running low on memory card space.
