Gees, why cant I buy oil from Chavez? I'll pay him $2.00 a gallon since our country wont drill its own HUGE oil feilds, meanwhile people are going hungry because the price of food goes up everytime they jack up the oil.

Its just to expensive to build a pipeline from Alberta to the other provinces so Canada imports most of its oil while the oil we have is sent South to the United States.

Yes but we may pay a much heavier price for that in the future. We cannot defend ourselves if necessary lets say if OPEC decides not to send us any more oil. Can you imagine what would happen if half of Canada had no gas, then we would be building a pipeline and fast. That would be even more expensive too because it would be rushed.
