I hate new cars... everything manifatured after 99' is a pussy car for me... even the damn hydroulics in the steering wheels. I prefer being in a UNsafe manual transmission car , without airbags, ABS , ECU and whole lot of other stuff that takes away the fun of driving... A car must be unpredictable, like a untamed horse... you never know what happens next..
@pav400 i think auto's are good for drag cars, where gear changes can be less than a second apart,i do agree, driving is more fun when it's raw,no computer limiting the throttle cos it reckons your turning too sharply,i got 90 degrees sideways at about 100 KMH,the car i was in had no ABS,i locked the brakes up so i would continue to slide down the road sideways,if it had ABS it would have got grip and shot me into the bush.air bag helped save my life,so i don't agree there.
@MyDucatiGT1000 If the drag cars had automatic gearboxes then there would be no competition... only by the litres of the engines. Does your car have auto gearbox? If it does.. you've got a problem. I drive a manual trans car , servo steering... what to do expect from a 89' Czech car.. nothing. Yes.. the engine is small.. but on snow its unstable. So.. i got in a similiar situation, i just popped from 5th to 3rd gear , gentle breaking and i regained control.
@pav400 ....in a manual trans car, if you lose suddenly traction, on a slippery surface, you must forget about the brakes and beat your reflex to hit the brakes. I always use the engine + gearbox to save myself in dire situations on snow. My car is heavy infront , where the engine is, and the rear is very light.. so its a bit of a battle to maintain control on snow or ice. Either way i love a good challenge.
@pav400 heavy duty automatic transmission's are widely used in drag racing, foot on the brake...stall up the auto, get the engine where it starts making power, let off the brake..you get the idea, just one reason,go look it up?...but as a road car i fuckin hate auto's,the competition comes down to pretty much every aspect of how a car is set up...not just how much grunt it's got,you can have plenty of power but it's useless if you can't get it to the ground,or power to weight for example :]
@allegroracing Im not hating Ive drove a Prius before its a smooth ride you cant feel it when youre going at 85 mph on the fwy but the design it horrible from outside. Inside you can make a lot of space in the back.
@Erniee7 Don't he a hater...I race cars and own two Priuses, they're great cars. But the answer is that these were produced for a Prius training program and were updated for different models.
