the 2004-2012 Nissan Versa (United States & Canada)/ Nissan Tiida/ Nissan Latio (Singapore, Indonesia & Malaysia)/ Nissan Tiida Latio (Japan)/ Dodge Trazo is assembled in Oppama, Japan Cuernavaca, Mexico Civac, Mexico Samut Prakan, Thailand Aguascalientes, Mexico Guangzhou, China Luanda, Angola Miaoli, Republic of China Wuhan, China
I rented one last year & liked it a lot. It's very roomy for the class & has a nice looking interior. The only thing that would prevent me from buying one is that acceleration is kind of slow. I would buy the hatchback over the sedan because it's better looking & it also has a better reliability record according to Consumer Reports. I would buy one if I wanted a small hatchback.
The versa is a "ok" car but the poor reliability and fuel economy keep it from being the best in class. My main problem of the car is the accleration. It's very slow and I wish I brought the car with the CVT transmission. Although I love the interior space, I wish nissan build this car more reliable instead of me keep going back to the dealership several time throughout the year. If nissan could address the fuel economy, engine noise, and reliability, I would buy another one.
@ijl05 CVT is waaaay more peepy on acceleration :) i have a 09 S hatchback and it PWNS civics, PT cruisers, Chevy PT look alikes (HHR), pretty much anything with less than 200hp lol
@ijl05 hmm.. thats weird even with 2people in the car it doesnt slug to get onto a inclined on ramp... weird. there might be something up with ur electrical. but i couldnt say forsure. but yea my 09 is a champ :)
I went looking for a car yesterday all day. I tried the versa hatchback, kia soul, honda fit and a sentra. In my opinion, Nissan Versa > all those cars, minus the Soul's interior, that was really nice- but $5000 more. The honda fit was a disappointment. It seemed very gimmicky compared to the Versa. Only thing I will give to the other cars is the completely flat laying rear seats.
i drive 08 versa with 1.8 S sedan....First off, this is not a bad car nor is the best. The interior is very good for such a small car but accleration is slow. I perfer the CVT over the automatic because of that and the fuel economy.

pretty ugly car. but i'd buy one if the gas pump hole was in the left side. when did nissan start broaching holes in the right side? sad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i hate that also....wish all cars put the gas tank on the driver side....had one as a rental tho, and i gotta say i kinda liked it, even tho the looks are somewhat "ugh", but it was very good on gas and the back seat is HUGE....did not expect a back seat like that in a car this small...2's..
They say you can buy one used for less than $10K without options and that includes no air conditioning which is suicide in Phoenix, Arizona in the Summer
Ever since they started selling the Versa here in the US, I thought it was a neat looking hatch (the sedan is homely). I got the chance to sit in one, and although the ergnomics and space feel so much better than the Sentra, the interior quality was really dissapointing. Rough edges on some plastic bits and cheap trunk liner as cabin flooring! Totally dissapointed. Hyundai Accent is a bit smaller and only 3-door isntead of 5 like Versa, but quality is better and better MPG too.
honestly, i don't think the versa is a ugly looking car. it's better looking than the toyota yaris and many other cars in its class. i'm actually considering buying either the sl version of the versa or a nissan altima 2.5s. if i picked the versa it would def be a hatchback rather than a sedan, because the sedan is weird looking
I've seen it advertised for as low as $9850 for the no-frills base model, so you just gotta shop around. Obviously, the Toyota Corolla leads this class, but is also the most expensive. Toyota's lesser offering, the Yaris, seems to have taken a lesson from Detroit and incorporated copius amounts of "plastic feel" and can't compete with Niisan here.
The Versa is still a better bargain then GM or Chrysler. I've never met a satisfied Chevy Aveo or Dodge Caliber owner. Only a Ford Focus comes close.
@oldtwins the versa with the automatic is faster than the competition cvt.. The versa is not overpriced for wat u get compared 2 the competition either
And the cheapest. Its ok to be boring and ugly if its cheap and reliable. I'm not going to drive one of these little shits to look good not even the cube or the civic i'll drive them to save money and get around or to get to work or as a company car if I ran my own bussiness for 9k dollars you can't beat the sedan and it looks a little better than the kia which actually cost more for a sedan. And I've never seen a kia reach 200k miles where nissans usually last 300k+
whats up with this fag and telescoping steering wheel thats a luxury we all know it is yet this idiot always mentions it talk about what features it has cartard not what it doesnt
Nissan despritatly needs to make a s16 there is one in the pipe works but the stupid c.e.o.s aren't letting it get out. I think enough people love the 240sx that they would buy a new one if it came out and I'd be one of the first. give it the 2.5 found in the altima and a 6speed we'll take it from there. The hyundai has a shitty mitsu engine so it's not hard to beat.
@bg1379 he is not contradicting himself. he is saying the seating positon compared to the pedals were awkward for his tall ass and he is saying the car is comfortable itself like driving as in over bumps on the road etc...

@kphillips012 i couldn't agree. the 4 speed automatic make the car feel a bit weak. it's "ok" around town, but struggle on the highway.

The Nissan TIIDA is very roomy and comfortable, plus is very powerful;I`m in love with my TIIDA.
Kennymex 1 year ago
I got to drive this for a week in vegas. I was amazed by the space on this thing.
It is a little underpowered but great fuel economy.
I almost spin out of control on this thing as I went down the dusty grand canyon skywalk road.
It's alright it was made for city driving anyway.

Apparently this is a slightly changed Dacia Sandero, which would mean this is the second best car in the world, after the Sandero of coarse.
SuperleggeraVW 2 years ago
@SuperleggeraVW trust me,the Nissan TIIDA is much better than the sandero, beginning with the engine, wich is more powerful yet very economical.

@SuperleggeraVW why is the dacia sandero the best car in the world?

@queensny2009 The headlights are angular to make it a bit aggressive on the road. This has to be the largest subcompact car out there.

Versa is overpriced in this range and it's a heavy mofo so the larger engine means nothing but burns more gas.

The Versa's interior is roomy and comfy, but don't expect power, refinement, and spirited driving dynamics.
