  • i didnt no asian plays baseball

  • awesome

  • just proves that if you ever think your really good at something, even baseball, theres an asian person out there who is better

  • He only needed one arm to pull himself over lol. my god, wtf?

  • they clim'n up your walls and snatch'n up your balls

  • One of two things happened on that catch. It either had some serious hang time on it or he got a helluva jump on it. Amazing.

  • Comment removed

  • that is sickkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

  • japanese baseball is the craziest shit ever..

  • sweet. that wall must be at least 10 foot high

  • No,

    its like a foul ball.

if you reach over the stand andcatch it its an out

  • @mario64rocks727 jajaja good one

  • ninjya!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Dawg, Ichiro has done that in America

  • If you catch a foul ball while leaning over the wall it's still an out. The same logic applies here.

  • but doesnt the ball had to hit the ground? to be out

  • Umm, I'm not quite sure what you're asking... To be out as a homerun or an "out" out?

  • thats why ichiro is so good. hes from asian land

  • he just jumped an foot fence

  • fuckin ninja

  • That would make Kenny Blankenship proud.

  • omg wow

  • whoever hit that got robbed!!!

  • Would've been funnier if he fell off the side after catching it.

  • HES GOT HOPS!

  • why the players in major league don't do this?

  • The are scared of breaking something and not playing any more = no money!

  • Best catch we've EVER seen!

Dave and Sam using Nancy's account

  • like to see him do that without the massive glove.

  • if u knew anything about baseball, you'd know your supposed to have a large glove for out field

  • @jacksy1980 Wow. Average line drive hit to a 3rd basemen in the major leagues is around 100mph. Catch that with your bare hand bitch.

  • @ThePerfectLie1 Easy......You will find that in Cricket this happens a lot....Bitch!

  • @jacksy1980 you wish you could catch a ball with or without a glove..the only balls you catch are your moms at night in your mouth

  • is that ichiro as a kid???

  • lol!!!!!! i saw this on tv yesterday i saw that one! on the same show its like best damn 50.. something

  • OMG

  • he was faster than the ball..normally baseball players need to dive for it and slide for it...but this guy was so fast that he was looking at his watch to wait to catch the ball

    awesome catch

  • "ONLY IN JAPAN"

  • baseball (Rounders)... the British invented for small children to pitch ball, swing bat, run around bases... its VERY popular today in UK among kids who play it up to 5th Grade... then they grow up, girls have leagues.. it aint for grown ups...hence aint played.

"The game of Rounders has been played in England since Tudor Times, with the earliest reference being in 1744 in "A Little Pretty Pocketbook" where it is called baseball. This explains why they're the same"

  • baseball is a world sport, you cant compare cricket and baseball, totally different games, totally different rules...

same with american football and rugby. different games.

Baseball is widely popular all over the world. Soccer and Baseball are the huge world sports. Cricket is nothing like baseball, only similarity is hitting a ball, and catching a ball...

  • Cricket is as widely popular as baseball mate, you forget that it's India's national sport and they have a population of about a billion. Baseball is popular in the US and Japan. Where else?

  • Cuba. Venezuala. Colombia. Puerto Rico. Holland. Australia. Dominican Republic. South Korea. Italy. Australia.

Of course it depends on the definition of popular, but I'd say baseball is more widely popular if by widely you mean numbers of countries rather than numbers of fans (and possibly even then, although the number of people in India _might_ weigh in favour of cricket, I suppose).

  • You listed Austrailia twice, where cricket is massive. You've got South Africa, India, Pakistan, the West Indies, Sri Lanka, New Zealand and England. In all of these countries it is the major summer sport. I was just annoyed the guy said cricket wasn't widely popular all over the world, when it clearly is. Nothing against baseball, which is obviously popular as well.

  • D'Oh! (at myself for listing Australia twice)

    <:-)

  • Canada? You may not believe it, but in my town of northern alberta, we play baseball more than hockey, and its winter 8 months a year

  • Oh no dis on Cricket, its an amazing game, but it it very different from baseball. To compare the two isnt smart.

  • We were comparing the popularity not the actual sport.

  • its baseball?

  • Yes this is Rounders.... British invented for small kids who play up to 5th grade.

    inventors.aboutDOTcom/library/ inventors/blbaseball.htm

In 1887 Spalding guide in america named it "World championship Series" assuming the likes of "Australia and Great Britain" would soon play and "become rivals"...none have, because the British invented this for kids to pitch ball, swing bat and run around bases, it aint for grown ups. Its very popular among girls who have leagues.

  • strike! good call mate...

  • Baseball players use gloves for the same reason the wicket keeper does. They handle hard-hit balls a lot more often than cricket fielders do.

Besides, it just makes it a different dynamic to the game.

Baseball is the game rounders always should have been. :)

For the record, I'm English, living in England, I love cricket, and I play baseball.

  • @jpjeffery

Thank god someone with a brain.

I was arguing with some guy from Canada last night, that sincerely thought that baseball players should be able to play with out gloves, simply b/c cricket players can.

  • @pervyboy69 ur a fuckin bitch who cant play any sports..baseball and football are sports for men not pussy ass little bitches like you

  • @cdcarpenter16 hahahah....yes you are pathetic, much like your sports that no one else plays and then you crown your selves "world champions"....america is like a large retarded kid that everyone else lets play with himself in the playground.

  • @pervyboy69 ha dumbass think again. baseball is the second most played sport next to soccer..and soccer is more manly than cricket or whatever the fuck that bitchass sport is

  • I'm having trouble with finding the players name and origin of this play can someone help me? It was a play in 1972 by some team vs. some team, but Im not sure?

  • only Jappanese people can do that

  • Its an out dumbasses. If he fell into the stands it woulda been a homer, but as long as you stay out of the stands its an out

  • Here's a question. Let's say hypothetically an outfielder had time to open the bullpen door and catch a ball well beyond the fence. Would it still be ruled an out? I know it's physically impossible given the timing of the play, but just for the sake of argument, how would they rule it? I would bet there are ballparks that have ground rules for such situations.

  • no that would not be legal

some part of your body needs to be in play during the catch

  • That makes sense.

  • not a homerun that was an out i have seen jump up and their gloves go over the fence and they catch it its an out

  • nope. this is an out. he started in play and the ball didn't touch anything beyond the line before it hit. amazing play

  • It is an out dumbass

  • I am pretty sure that that was a home run, but maybe not. I am not sure, maybe rules are different or umps were so amazed they didn't even consider taking it away

  • How was it a home run? He reached over the fence and caught it. It happens all the time in the big leagues where guys reach over and rob homers.

It's how high this guy leaped (actually standing on top of the fence) that makes this one so amazing. But as long as the ball doesn't touch anything beyond the yellow line before landing in the fielder's mitt, it's a definite out.

This is BY FAR the most amazing catch ever at any level btw!

  • that wasn good.

  • That wasnt a out, thats a home run. He was standing out of play waiting for the ball. You can only jump out and still make a out if you jump out catch the ball and still have momentum. You cant stand in the stands or out of play for the ball.

  • best.catch.ever.

  • that was sicker than sick

  • I remember seeing this on Baseball Tonight once! This is far and away the best catch ever in a baseball game.

  • oh shit

  • i remeber seeing that on tht show

  • omg

  • Matt Holliday can

  • haha

  • god it looks like hes practiced the play millions of times! and then after hes just like WHAT? DIDNT I CETCH IT?

  • This play should have been number 1 on the show. I was watching it.

  • who;s this player? this play can put it him in the MLB !! woow

  • i think the play was from 1981

  • how you know that.. i don't think so..I think this is was on 1991 or something like that

  • chinese wall jumping hahah

  • China doesnt have a baseball lueage thatsh japan

  • holy crap! That catch wuz amazing

  • dam japennes people know how to play baseball

  • this is like the 2nd out of 100 videos that is actually a good play

  • Why are all the great catches videos showing Japan? I mean really, America has a million great plays. Recently in the LLWS there was a 12 year old jumping and catching a ball preventing a walkoff!

  • Because MLB removes most of the American videos due to copyright infringement.

  • I saw that. the kid that got robbed started crying. Good stuff

  • Were you really watching it? Cuz it doesn't show that kid on this video.

  • Yes I was really watching it

  • Actually it isn't.

  • Actually it is. We can settle this in a dark alley w/ some handbags if you want.

  • lol

  • lol

  • Wow,he's like a ninja or spiderman. Some people doesn't realize how hard this catch is.The point is that he stood for a second at the top and caught the ball. With that running and climbing speed,it should be really hard to stay at the top of that thinny fence. Many MLB and NPB outfielders will fall over the otherside or won't climb on their foot.He also climbed that fence in two steps. He sure has great balance.

  • wow.

  • lol

  • uhh....but u cant do that

  • i never said i could u fucktard.......but let me guess u could?

  • I saw that on best damn that was better than the number 1

  • AMAZING CATCH!

  • :| ....wow :P

  • I laughed

  • Crap, greatest catch I've ever seen.

  • SHHHHIT!!!

  • hahahaha definitely the best baseball catch ive ever seen! japanese ninja player lol

  • You gotta be kidding! It reminds me of the also fuckin' amazing play that Endy Chavez of the Mets made in the NLCS against the Cards in 2006. WOW!

  • Granderson and Gary Matthews Jr had better catches, imo

  • holy crap

  • ok that is the best thing i have ever fucking seen, GREAT VIDEO!!!!

  • fuckin ninja

  • wow people hit the the fence when the catch the ball but this guy stood on it... It must be fucking spida man!

  • Metaknight121, I recently saw this play on ESPN, it would be great if you added the clip's name to the video info.

The clip is called "Japanease Trapeeze".

  • That is aesome Holy crapt!

  • WHATACATCH!!!!!

  • holy shit

  • O_O WOW!

  • spider man

    spider man...

  • What the hell was 1 through 6 if this was number 7?

  • Hahahaha. Great point

  • A clip called "Lone Ranger Rides Again".

  • it would have been better if he jumped over the wall and fell on the other side but still HOLY CRAP!!!!

  • The only thing I want to know is on what show is that catch ranked number 7?!?! lol

  • The Best Damn Sports Show Period's Top 50 Baseball Plays. The reason I upload this particular clip was because I thought it was a nice catch and it was really the only one that MLB doesn't own the copyrights to.

  • *uploaded

  • Anyone who does not think that was a good catch has obviously not played baseball before...

  • how was that not amazing

  • Nic tags for me but uhh where the hell did u get dave kingman from dude??? wat r u talkin about wen u said that matthews jr robbed dave kingman???? ya u probly do hav more baseball knowledge than me i must admit... NOT!!!!

  • Gary Matthews robbing Dave Kingman and Gary Matthews Jr. robbing Mike Lamb were two different catches made by two different people.

  • 1st of all get ur facts straight becuz it wasnt dave kingman who got robbed it was Mike Lamb...(Where did you get dave kingman from???) and 2nd of all this catch was probly the craziest catch i've ever seen!!

  • you cant say thats not amazing you guys probably dont play baseball and dont understand how difficult it is to time your jump like that and get that ball if he jumped it would have been to far.

  • it wasnt the greatest catch in baseball because all he did was run up the fence. he didnt jump. it's more exciting to see people jump to rob a ball.

  • i think this play is really boring. its not a good rob at all.
