  • Hey man great video, I was wondering if you can help me with something. I want to do Film at Full Sail, this is my senior year in high school, I don't know what to do, because my dad has been telling me to go to other school, because I'm too "young" for this school, but I really want to go. What would you recommend me?

  • @productCarbon Hmm, well. You could ask your dad how old you need to be to attend this school. Then you could spend your time proving you are old enough. See what it would take to convince him that this school is the place for you. Sounds like he wants whats best for you, which is awesome. Take your time, research the school as much as you can. Finish high school, & maybe then your dad will see how much work you put into graduating high school, he might come around. Let me know how it goes.

  • @KidCaliente Thank you very much man, I appreciate your response on my issue. I will talk to my dad and research Full Sail more. Thank You again.

  • @productCarbon No prob, if you have any questions, just ask me. If you PM me I can give clearer longer answers. Sometimes these comment boxes are restricting. ;)

  • @KidCaliente Aight man, thanks, I will let you know how everything goes. Thank You.

  • I'm looking for an option that competes with the Digital Arts and Design degree. All the portfolio work I've seen come out of other schools including the Art Institute doesn't compete with Full Sail's student work. Is there anything out there that comes close or compares?

  • @kevincease Im not 100% sure, I took Film at Full Sail. I heard there is a good school in Washington state but I can't remember the name at the moment. Sorry.

  • In Full Sail how do you pay for tuition? Is it part of tuition?

  • @InSaNiTyReiGnZ The way I paid for tuition was with loans.

  • Yup, you get all your work. And your 16MM & 35MM projects are on DVD. I, myself in those 2 months attended class, studied, went to lab, and trained & prepared for the 35MM project. Then in the 2nd month, we shot the Film.

  • KidCaliente

What was your original intention in participating in Full Sail? Where are you at with what you said was the reason you went there to get for yourself and your life?

What is next or missing for you to fullfill what you are up to artistically?

What kind of "job" do you see for yourself? Is it related to what you studied and accomplished at Full Sail?

  • My current and original intention in attending Full Sail was to have a career in the Film/Tv world. Currently I am applying to a local TV station and doing freelance Photography and Video work.

My next goal is to try to produce my TV program. Artistically, I am trying to grow more as a Camera Operator, & Photographer.

The dream job I would desire is Producer. Which I had lots of experience with in school.

  • @KidCaliente great. Thanks for sharing that with me,

May I ask, what does "have a career in the Film/Tv world mean to you - what does it look like? What kid of contribution do you want to make? What kind of projects? What kind of work would you like to produce?

    Just curious bro!

  • No probz. ;)

To have a career in the Film/TV biz to me is; being able to support myself and doing what I love. If its being a Grip, Cam Op, or Producer for the rest of my life. I will be happy. Any kind of project is cool with me. Narrative film/tv, Documentary, Cartoon, and Broadcast TV are all dynamite. I would like to produce mostly narrative Films, Cartoons, and Television.

  • @KidCaliente

I guess what I wanted to know was what contribution do you want to make in those theaters, arenas, domains eg. "Narrative film/tv, Documentary, Cartoon, and Broadcast TV" once you are there?

  • I just want to give people a form of escapism. I want to entertain, I wish to make content for the common man. Im not too much for high artistic forms of content. But I could also see myself breaking down social barriers with my everyman style of entertainment. For now thats the direction wish to go in.

  • @KidCaliente

    very clear. awesome.

  • I've seen a few of your vids, I Can tell you have been working with your trade. Good luck.. I can tell that the networking is the Deal, while your downthere.

  • Thanks for watching! Yeah, networking is key. ;)

  • It's cool you went downt there and did your thing. I've been wanting to go since 98' for Rec. Arts. Part of me is glad I didn't you know Family and stuff but another part of me Really wishes I had gone and Found a way to do what I really love. It sounds like you might be Moving, Im in Cleveland and I understand when there's little to no work. Cali? Newyork? I wonder what''s best for your field?

  • was it worth it?....because it sounds like you were stranded and left for dead.

  • Totally worth it bro. What makes it seem I was stranded and left for dead?

  • i mean no disrespect. You've been very helpful. Its just that you had no updates for so long and then you were graduated and having trouble getting home. sounded a little fishy. And I know its not our business where you end up working but I haven't heard anything about a job yet.......just curious......take care!

  • I hear ya. I didnt think you were being disrespectful. I was just wondering, lol. Well, I spend my days job hunting in my hometown. The thing is, there are not many jobs in my field here, so I spend everyday job hunting. But my monthly bills are catching up to me. So I rarely have time to spend making updates. I would just drive to Atlanta for film/tv jobs. But I cannot afford the gas. LOL. It sucks.

  • So has Full Sail helped you find a job or at least make that easier?

  • Yes, they have helped a lot! The Career Development folks have helped me alot! They research the area your in, and notify you about the jobs.

  • nice man congrats now go make me rich!

j/k but yeah man good job!

  • LOL! Thats whats up! Time to get money!

  • congrats homey!

  • Thanks pimp!

  • So now is it life after Full Sail?

  • Probably, I think there is one called that. I could be wrong. I will still vids here and there.

  • Congrats dude on graduating!!! hope everything turns out for your well

  • Thanks!

  • So Atlanta's Pretty much the hot spot to get hooked up with a job after graduation right?

  • Yeah, its one of the hot spots, LA still is the biggest place. But there are lots of places in US that have jobs.

  • Congrats on graduating Miguel! I'm making the big move from Savannah, GA to Winter Park in about 2 weeks to start my journey!! Best wishes to you and your career. Pascual

P.S. Did you get any graduation footage?

  • Nice! I did not get any footage at the graduation. My stupid batteries died right before I walked. So irritating. LOL.

  • Congrats on graduating!

  • Thanks!

  • congrats on graduating man, a big question though, i heard full sail is like 75k a year how did you manage to afford that and or are you still paying loans? Was full sail your first choice for college or was there other choices? what made you decide "full sail" instead of usc, ucla, cal arts etc. Thanks man I hope im not bombarding with questions haha

  • Thanks for watching! The price is for the full time your at the school, that includes books, labs, and the MAC you get. Im not sure what the current price is now. But, yeah its little pricy. But worth every penny in opinion. I chose Full Sail for its condensed course time. Its like a 4 year course put in 2 years. Also the hands on time with the equipment was amazing. Thats what sold me on Full Sail.
