I haven't read through the comments, I'm sure it's already been said, but CoolReader will allow you to open books straight from the Sniffer program. FBreaderJ is the primary program I use though for reading ePubs on my Adam.
Have they pulled this tablet? I can't seem to find it anywhere. I'm sure it has improved since this video, but I can't seem to find it anywhere. Found some on ebay, but they were charging $100 more than the retail price.
It is an sd card and it is a FAT but it doesnt show up, its 8 gb. However when I put the micro sd card from my phone which is 4gb, sniffer recognises it. But the 9GB one is from a camera.
I find it frustrating that you title this "tips and trick", yet have no insights about this device.
Did you follow the instructions on the Aldiko website for loading books: "Just copy your EPUB files into your SD card (in the eBooks/import/ folder), select the ‘Import’ option on the app’s home screen and it will automatically scan and import your books."
NI did send out a firmware update when adam first came out. did you update your adam ? if you update, if have not already, can you tell if some of your issues got fixed.
sorry posted before i finished vid. but if you search google for (notion ink adam unbrick) and follow steps to unbrick it will also update your adam to latest firmware. but you will reset the adam back to default. this means you will loose your settings and saved data
Have you tried importing books into the various readers via the Adam's internal memory instead of USB/microSD? In another video I've seen, some apps mistakenly identify the internal memory as an SD card, so when the one you tried here fails to find anything, it may have been looking in the wrong place.
@dz1073 That doesn't seem to work either. Although once we rooted our adam and were able to install other applications we could open PDF files with Adobe Reader and ePub files with Cool Reader
@dz1073 Yes, this process does not work. It does not recognize the Adam. You might be able to get it to work by coping the ebooks to the adam memory, but that process is buggy as well.
The best way to do it, is root your adam and get access to the android market and download Adobe PDF Reader to read PDF files and Cool Reader to read ePub files, someone else said FBReader does read MOBI files from the MIcroSD

@rambothan You need to make sure your SD is FAT or FAT32

Was looking at buying this product as an ereader. Glad I didn't. Not at all surprised at the low quality and tons of bugs, with it coming from India.

you can try moon reader. It alows importing books from specified directory or you can open books directly from sd card..

could it be that it works only with Kobo because they are a NI content provider..so it is locked somehow to Kobo only

Looks like issue with status bar covering app is no longer there as you can minimize it to left top corder indicator. Am i right?
