The word Maharaja is not meant to show that king was great. Maharaja means, the king who has villages under him in thousands(Maha means thousand). The one with over Lakh is called Samraat and the ruler of whole country is Chakravarti.

In history of india. sikhs have never got the credit . sikhs are the reason india still in the world map. hope one day will come when india will learn how to be united and we will learn how to respect each other as a humans.

Bengal became independent in 1903 for two years from Assam to Calcutta. It would've been better to create borders based on linguistic differences like in Europe. French speakers live in France, Germans in Germany and so on.

Fact is that india have never been united as a whole state only under Chandragupta and the Buddhist empire of mauryans. After the collapse and persecution of Buddhists the divisions again riise. India was united again by british when marathas were being defeated by abdalis the Rajpiutana never bothered.

Yeah we Sikhs definitely helped fight off the Moguls but marathas and rajputs did their part too, well Sikhs also fought the Rajputs at one time because of their alliance with moguls. ALot of Sikhs think that we single handedly fought off the Moguls but other groups did their part even some Muslims , like the sufis who aided Guru Gobind Singh. I always think of the Moguls as tyrants rather than muslims because they oppressed their own people too. I do support Khalistan too but not hate.

@cowman101 Rajputs didnt do shit.They fought to the end when they invaded, but when they themselves got rich off of allying with the Mughals and when the Mughal emperors themselves had Rajput blood, the didn't do shit.The Sikhs and definitely the Marathas on the other had fought many wars with the Mughals and won.You can see what the Marathas did to the Mughals if you see the map of India in 1700s Mughals had a small amount of land in Delhi and Marathas took massive amounts of land from them.

Khalistan was a good idea because the Sikhs didn't get any political power in the indian government or their own state. Khalistan was initially a peaceful thing but was blown out of proportion by the government in hopes to settle down the movement (the use of arms) and then the whole thing set off from there.
Maharaja ranjit singh's raj was awesome for all religions...very peaceful. Anyways, we should just try to overcome adversity and try to make India/Punjab a better place for all.

But Hindus protected their own religion unlike Zoroastrians,many pagan religions of the middle east,n.Africa,Pagan religions of Europe,etc. For example when the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb was going mad with power and exterminate many people Hindus,Sikhs,even Muslims alike. The Hindus of the Marathas wasnt having any of it. Mughals fought a 27 year war which bankrupted the empire and the Marathas took massive amounts of land from the Mughals after Aurangzeb died.

@BengalG3 also if you read british history in india, u can find many recording where they state how they most feminized indians were the bengalis and it wasnt until they reached punjab that they realized that there were brave, physically strong men in india. look at the numbers and you will who gave more sacrifice compared to their population. even the british recognizes sikh braver and distinct and unlike any other, the only other ppl they say this about is the afghan pasthons.

Sikhs or the Rajput were not "barbarian fighters" they were princely states and fought against tyranny at the time for India. "Pakistan why you living in India" Yes they used to live in east-west India(Pakistan,Punjab),but muslims Indians wanted to create a new state called Pakistan they kicked out most of the minoritys in Pakistan including the Sikhs.
