I can't *tell* you how many people I've killed in the past 6 or so years that I've been carrying a gun. Or how many times I've pulled it out in the heat of an argument. Or how recently I blew away the old lady who backed into me 'cause she couldn't be bothered looking in her rearview mirror.

I went to Barnes and Nobles and told them I wanted "The Schmucks" but I kept being passed from one member of management to another. There were dozens of people who were LEGALLY holding firearms that horrible day on the Tech campus. They are called POLICE. They stood outside of the door in full swat gear with assault riffles in hand while person after person was killed. How come no one here or anywhere else brings that up? For the record I basically agree with his statements I think if a responsibe student was able to legally carry a firearm things might have been different, however the police should have dont their job.

Let's assume that there was no gun control, everyone would walk around armed to the teeth and would shoot the bad guy. That is simply not a likely scenario. Go to any table which shows the rate of gun ownership compared with the homicide rate. Tell me if you see any alarming trends. The particular one I am looking at shows USA has 85,000 guns per 100k with a homicide rate of 9.3. Britain however 3,000 guns per 100k with a homicide rate of 1.3.
Which, to me, suggests that the UK is much more violent than America (assuming gun ownership is directly linked to murders). The U.S. has 28.3 times as many guns per capita, but only about 9 times as many homocides. Hmmm...

Mr. Mason, I cannot tell you how much I appreciate your opinions and the talent with which you express them. I went to Barnes and Nobles and told them I wanted "The Schmucks" but I kept being passed from one member of management to another. From talking to the local management, it now appears that the schmucks are all at corporate headquarters. I wish I could get a copy locally but I guess The Schmucks are all in New York. Please keep doing what you do best. We love it.

There were dozens of people who were LEGALLY holding firearms that horrible day on the Tech campus. They are called POLICE. They stood outside of the door in full swat gear with assault riffles in hand while person after person was killed. How come no one here or anywhere else brings that up? For the record I basically agree with his statements I think if a responsibe student was able to legally carry a firearm things might have been different, however the police should have dont their job.

Let's assume that there was no gun control, everyone would walk around armed to the teeth and would shoot the bad guy. That is simply not a likely scenario. Gun free zones = target practice. When people go on mass shooting sprees they do so at places where there are no weapons. When was the last time someone went on a shooting spree at a police station? I've never heard of one. These terrible acts can only occur where people don't have the ability to defend themselves. If everyone carried a gun I guess the fucked up people would get explosives or some nasty chemicals. In the military (I have served) at the shooting range you could kill a dozen people before anyone even reacts, and again if someone does a thing like that he/she is ready to die. So I just don't think more guns is a good solutions to anything.

Therefore, the law abiding citizen has a right to defend himself from a murderer. Approximately 33 states are "shall issue" states. Which means if you have a clean record you can carry a concealed firearm. You just have to fill out the paperwork.

Actually, the one who mentioned other nations is incorrect. In Switzerland, where every male citizen 18 or older must keep, maintain and be proficient in the use of a machine gun, the crime rate is even lower than in Britain. Go to any table which shows the rate of gun ownership compared with the homicide rate. Tell me if you see any alarming trends. The particular one I am looking at shows USA has 85,000 guns per 100k with a homicide rate of 9.3. Britain however 3,000 guns per 100k with a homicide rate of 1.3.

In most states we are not allowed to conceal and carry. I guarantee you, check it out, in those states that have conceal and carry laws in the US the criminals are afraid and the murder and rape statistics are LOW!!!!

A quick search of some of those statistics in google will bring up the same article which has been spread around many gun websites. The article is a fake and none of those statistics have been supported by any mainstream media corporations, only gun websites.
If you lived in Australia you would know that it has always been illegal for ordinary citizens to have firearms.

Nothing could have prevented the shooting, the ONE thing that could have cut it short and reduced the body count would have been another student or faculty member with a concealed carry. Oh and by the way, If I was intent on causing the most deaths possible...I wouldn't use a gun...

It's true. You can ban guns, but it will neither make them disappear or prevent people from murdering each other. Black markets will arise and the people should have the guns the least will have the easiest access to them.

Jackie Mason is simply talking "common sense". Unfortunately, those in power within government seem to lack the same "common sense". They apparently don't understand that the only "deadly weapon" on the VT campus that April day was the maniac, Cho. But it was the idiotic anti-gun rule that was and is responsible for the deaths of all those people.

It is a 3"x5" decal with a picture of a gun inside the red circle with a diagonal slash with the message "I Support Gun Control / No Guns In This House/Car". Go ahead, display your philosophy PROUDLY! Place it on your car window or on your front door! Get some for all your friends and make a statement of solidarity for THE CAUSE!
Then maybe all the "misunderstood" criminals will go after you parasites and leave the rest of us alone.
