  • nice, loved the music while you were packing

i always get told never to tie leads in a knot like that coz it damages them or something i have to kinda loop them and then use a loop of velcro to secure it =)

  • Oh wow, I think the ukulele on the sofa is the same as my one. =)

    Can you play it?

I can a bit, but not well yet.

  • Nice tips... I don't think I need them soon, but they sound good ^__^

Also, about the capo thing (again) I pronounce it exactly like you do. Dutch pronounciation ftw I guess :p

  • GT-3 thats pretty old school

  • heh, I don't consider myself a musician, but a lot of that is pretty much common sense. However other tips you gave were fairly decent that I didn't know ^.^

  • Wow, you actually put me in the video on this channel, I was wondering where those subscribers were all coming from :)

  • Nice work :D

  • That was educational, as with anything preparation is the key to having it go smoothly :)

  • any reason to take your trousers off in a video JB....

but seriously this was really helpful. I'll have to remember it for future gigs :)

  • OOohhh Gigs are fun!! :) I was happy to see Koos there! I met him in NYC at the 789 gathering! :)

  • Great tips! I can't tell you how many needless crises have been created in my touring theatre group by forgetting an adapter or cable. Now, I just keep a kit with these items in my car as a backup!

  • This is made of awesome.

    <3

  • i have the same capo. I really like it.

    GREAT VIDEO!

  • Don't know how you were speaking coherently. Whenever I play a gig, the few hours before, I can only mumble nonsense, because I get so nervous. Do you have tips for keeping nerves down? I need them :(

  • Do it a lot. It's the only tip I can give. I didn't sleep and couldn't eat before my first few gigs. But now I was literally eating on stage just before the show started. The more you do it, the more you get used to it!

  • I've found it can be helpful to bring more than one guitar, especially in case of string brekage. You can just switch off straight away.

  • Very important. I always do that too, can't believe I left out that tip here. Maybe because I didn't bring one on this gig, because I left it at school ;-)

  • I looove playing shows. So far I've just played on my own though. So it's not as complicated as all that.

  • I've done both. It's great to just hop on the bus with one guitar instead of all this hassle. But in the end I prefer playing in a band. The spirit, the energy, I love it =D

  • I hope to experience it one day!

  • Could one of you guys do a beginners guide to making electronic music? Kit needed, best MIDI controllers etc... I would love you guys forever if you did :3 (not as much as my boyfriend though, obviously XD)

  • Great video JB. I didn't realize you had to bring quite that much stuff :o

  • My friends band had a gig last night, and it didnt go too well, because of problems that could have been prevented with these tips. I'll certainly forward it to them.

  • That was awesome.

    Even without gig footage.

  • Loving this channel.

I have a love-hate relationship with paperwork. There needs to be a simpler way for money to get paid to the right people and stuff.

  • Life would be a lot easier without taxes... And if people always stuck to oral deals. ;-)

  • damn, I miss playing shows. And yeah, you hit it about right on all the preparations. So much to think about!

  • Glad the gig went well. =) Good tips.

  • Thanks for this JB :D

  • awesome video jb! is your guitar a gibson sg? or an epiphone sg?

  • It's an Epi :-) And I built in a Q-Tuner element myself.

  • cool! i have an epi sg aswell! yay for having the same guitar! :)

  • Glad the gig went well JB! Shame you forgot to record it for us though...

P.S. JB in his underwear! Oh my!

    P.P.S "Cap-oh!!"

  • I recorded that bit before watching your vid :-). I put in a link to your vid now for reference :P

  • Great video - and glad the gig went well! =)

  • I got to see J.B Dazen without pants! :O Yess!

No but seriously, all you said was true and very informative and I'm glad your gig went really :]

  • Who's Robbie?

  • Robbie? I don't know, do you?

  • Isn't that what Sebastiaan was yelling out? Sounded like he said Robbie haha.

  • Hmmm seems you didn't get the joke then! He was yelling 'rubbish'!

  • Aha, well now it all makes sense. Thanks for clearing that up :P

  • Oddly enough I was like who is Robbie??? OHH he is saying rubbish now that makes sense.

  • First!

  • Also.. an actual comment. Awesome vid. You certainly know what you're talking about. Glad to see it paid off well.

    Thanks for sharing.
